The food at Captain Jerry’s has always been great, however this visit left me reconsidering my opinion. I usually order To Go, this visit I dined in. The Tartar Sauce is not kept cold, it is put out when the restaurant opens and left to be used by the patrons throughout the day. When iv asked to soak with the manager she did not come to the take but sent the server back to us twice until I insisted to speak with her and then the chilled Tartar Sauce was brought to the table. The manager finally comes to the table and offers nothing but excuses.Not pleased and the manager, Ms. Kay, simply made too many reasons why they aren’t able to accommodate something that should be a standard. No more!
The wife and I moved from Fayetteville NC in 2002, the first place we went to eat was Captian Jerry’s when we returned. Everything is the same but watch your plate, they short you on your food when you order a combination plate. They also do not have a Senior Citizens discount. Eaters beware
Yummy. The food is great, a lot for very little money in my opinion. Its the best seafood in town, believe me I have tried them all 🙂 The staff is friendly and very appreciative for the business. I just found out they are family owned and operated and have been since they opened back in ’88, this makes me love this place even more. They are very clean and this is reflected in their sanitation score (never seen anything below 100) The atmosphere is a bit dated and so is the servers attire, very waffle houseish. I really enjoy this place for dinner any night of the week though, if you want great seafood this is the place. Great restaurant A+++
It looks run down on the inside and out but it has great food and a wide selection of food and reasonably priced.
I recently ate at Captain Jerry’s for the first time and all I could say was Wow!! I ordered the everyday special which was whiting and popcorn shrimp and was amazed at the amount of food I received for $8.99. I got two pieces of fish, a bunch of shrimp, my potatoe,hush puppies and the most amazing coleslaw that I have ever had. My boyfriend ordered the catfish and scallops plate and again I was very impressed. He received two pieces of fish and a half dozen scallops that were HUGE. He got the same sides as me but also got the clam chowder in addition to everything else. He really liked the chowder, which we later found out was homemade. The staff seemed very friendly, the young man that waited on us was very charming and polite. We will definitely be returning to enjoy more of the delicious food and hopefully the same gracious service from Matt that we received this time.
Very expensive for some fried food. You be better off money and taste and health wise going to Red Lobster or Outback. And they don’t give you much
Terrible. Food is fried too hard, they do not use catfish seasoning, and it’s very expensive. The oil from the salad dressing was sitting on top of the dressing, and the waitress had a short attention span (the restaurant was not crowded, but you had to look her). The calamari was the only thing good.
