Nice Fifties diner feel. Good food. Good service. The homemade potato chips were a great change from standard French fries or pkg chips.
The service was okay. The wait staff was friendly, but slow/distracted. Lots of standing behind the counter when my table needed refills or had questions. The food was not very good. I ordered the pork chop w/ fried squash and mashed potatoes. The chops and taters were decent. The squash was soggy and dripping w/ grease. My boyfriend ordered the meatloaf with spicy ketchup, onion rings, and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese looked old and reheated. The spicy ketchup was insanely spicy. almost like they mixed an entire bottle of Texas Pete with a bottle of ketchup. Overall, a not so pleasant experience. We will not be returning.
Billy Bob’s theme is modeled on the 50’s dinner. The interior is well designed, with cheerful colors and accent lighting. The wall coverings allow customers to write on them will dry erase markers that are provided. This give kids a fun activity to enjoy while your meal is cooked fresh.I was greeted as soon as I was seen at the door, and promptly seated. I found the interior to be clean, bright and well maintained. The waiter was very curtious, and filled the drink order swiftly. He was able to answer question about the meal I ordered, which was a BLT with fresh chips.I received my food in a reseasonable amount of time. The bacon was crispy, the bread was toasted and butter, but the lettus, tomatoe, and mayo were cool, fresh and flavorful. The chips were hot, and crunchy, in a generous portion. A few of the thicker slices were some what soft, as I would expect with this style of potatoe, but not grease soaked. They were a little oto salty for my taste, but that didn’t keep me from eating too many. However, I forced myself to stop before I ate all of them. I did so, because I wanted to try a chocolate malt.The malt was hand made and served in an old fashion, tall soda glass. An equal portion was left in the metal mixing cup. The flavor was rich, but not so thick that the straw was useless. I was able to transfer the second half of the malt into a cup to take home for a snack tomorrow. The waiter took my payment for the meal at the table.Over all, I enjoyed my time at Billy Bob’s, and plan to return!
