Solid Red Sauce Italian, Great Pizza. The location and lack of street visibility probably works against this restaurant, but it really is worth the effort, and the necessary maneuvering through the crowded parking lot, to find it. The restaurant is small, somewhat worn looking, and rather dark – the lighting is more than a little dim. The service is efficient, though not particularly engaging. The food is solid, old school, red sauce Italian.with a nice variety of pasta dishes and sauces, a number of chicken and veal choices, salads, sandwiches & wraps, pizza, stromboli, and calzones. We tried the small Personal Pizza ($6.74) with pepperoni & extra cheese, and the Arancini ($6), which are breaded rice balls that are fried. The pizza was excellent – perfect thin crust, plenty of cheese and pepperoni, and perfectly cooked. For our tastes, this pizza is as good as any in the area, and we’d come back just for the pizza. The Arancini was a little disappointing in that it was under-seasoned, with no meat or cheese filling (the norm), and did not match up well with the honey mustard dipping sauce. There is potential here – once they were well salted the flavor and texture were nice. – but as served this is a bland appetizer. The Spaghetti with meat sauce ($7.75) and the Beef Lasagna ($7.75) were both pretty good, though the meat sauce is a touch on the sweet side. The lunch pasta dishes come with bread, but no side, so they’re a little bit pricey. Would definitely try this place again, especially for the pizza, maybe another pasta choice.

Regular. Absolutely the best Italian food in Winston. Never had a bad meal or bad service. Had to cut back on desserts and bread because of diet. Broke my heart!.Only quibble is with the prepackaged butter packets. Shows too little respect for the fantastic bread. Otherwise, perfect.

Best Italian restaurant in Winston Salem! Don’t let the strip center storefront fool you. The food and service are excellent. Try the Chicken Parmesan. Best homemade bread with herbed dipping oil. House salad dressing is also very good. Servers are knowledgeable and professional.

Carmine’s. This is my husband’s favorite restaurant and he is very picky. Unfortunately their bread is delicious as are the soups. The entrees are excellent and the service is quick, efficient and courteous.. It has my highest recommendation.
