I have eaten at several Chedders. They are one of my favorite chain restaurants. This one was horrible!!! I was told by the server that she would be giving excellent service, well that never happened I rarely seen her. Slow service,, smallest portions of any Chedders I’ve been to, cold food. The person that looked like maybe the manager stood at the bar most of the time. I diffently won’t be back!!!!!
Littleman. What a fun vibrant atmosphere with great service & amazing food! Prices are competitive & portions are unbelievable! Inviting bar area to relax with a drink while waiting on your table.
Wasted Potential. I tried to go to Cheddars a couple of times since it opened, only to find no available parking spaces in the lot and a line out the door. Well, I finally was able to try it out Sunday night, and unfortunately I don’t think I will be back anytime soon. The restaurant seemed promising at first – very tasteful decor, soft lighting, and the most beautiful restaurant fish tank I have ever seen. Then things started going downhill – after a 20 minute wait, we were seated and told they were out of ribs and could only make about half of the special mixed drinks on the menu (we ended up having one called the wedding cake which was not half bad for the price). When the food finally did arrive, it was mediocre at best. I guess I should not have expected anything special for such low prices, but I thought the constant crowds were a sign of something good. And that’s the problem with Cheddars – the atmosphere is far nicer than anything else in its class, the prices are stellar, and menu is varied, but the food is easily the worst in the category (Fridays, Chilis, Applebees, Ruby Tuesday, etc.). I didn’t experience the terrible service others have posted about here, but the subpar food will be enough to keep me away.
Very disappointing in Winston-Salem. Service and food. Ate at Cheddars in Louisville, Ky Westport Rd area service and food outstanding! What a let down in NC..won’t be back here!
Too slow and too loud. We tried this restaurant for the first time this evening and were disappointed. We were given a wait time of 30 minutes when we arrived for a party of two. After waiting almost 45 minutes and watching other parties of two who arrived after us be seated, I asked the hostess where we were in the queue. Apparently, they buzzed us for seating, but our alarm was not working so we ended up waiting much longer than necessary. There appeared to be too few wait staff. Our waitress was a hard worker, but seemed to have too many tables to wait on. It took way too long between getting our drink orders, our food orders and refills were almost non-existent. Not to mention, they must be pouring hot tea into the iced tea glasses because both times we received our tea the ice was almost completely melted.Another issue was the noise. The restaurant was packed (at 8:00pm on a Sunday evening?) and the hard floors and high ceiling made the acoustics very loud. The noise level reminded me of being in a high school cafeteria, not exactly the atmosphere I want to be in when I’m paying for an evening out.Our food was actually pretty good. It arrived hot and was seasoned well. Unfortunately, the other issues will keep us from returning. Also, we ordered dessert and waited about 10 minutes. The waitress forgot and brought our check. We decided to just pay rather than try to wait any longer for dessert.
Great and great prices. They must have gotten service corrected. Great service!!!! Will be back soon. Lunch portion filled me up.
Abject failure. We have been to Cheddars twice in the past month and had a great time on both occasions. Today we went there again looking forward to yet another pleasant experience; but not so today. After being told that the wait was 30 minutes we were seated 50 minutes later. The 10 minute intervals between server appearances led to only half of our food about an hour later, cold to boot!! Refills were non-existent. The manager had myriad of excuses, blaming kitchen, servers, and anything else. All in all a typical hour long meal tuned into a 3 hour failure. And just in case you were wondering, we will not be going back.
