Service was good. Did I not have to wait to be seated which was nice on a Friday night with no reservation . Ordered garlic chili shrimp was ok could have been sweeter but it was good . Ordered spider roll, diamond roll, unagi roll. Unagi was great but the other two where not to good , the diamond roll was bland and chewy. Second worst spider roll I have ever had , worst was at fire and sticks in high point . When owner came by and asked about our meal I was honest and stated that I have had better from HT and told her what was wrong. She politely took my criticism and offered to take care of our meal which she did. Thank you. She even brought us a pistachio cream brle on the house that was awesome not something I would have ordered but it was great thank you. I will be back to try again and give it another chance thank you for the great service.

The food took forever; an hour from the time we sat down to get our entrees. We order the Kobe beef dumplings which came out over done but had a nice beef flavor. The garlic naan bread was nothing to write home about, slightly soggy. My husband order the XO crispy duck and I order the Korean style braised short ribs. Both were ok. Not mind blowing. But for over $60 for the meal, I expected a little more. Service was good (just slow). The atmosphere is nice though.

My husband and I decided to pop into HakkaChow for dinner. I’m glad we did. We popped in on a Saturday night and had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. Once seated, our server promptly came over to take our drink orders and go over the menu. I love Asian food, so trying to decide on dinner was tough. I settled on the traditional yellow curry while my husband tried the hot pot braised pork belly. I also ordered a side of the garlic naan bread and a spicy tuna roll. The spicy tuna roll was no joke – delightfully spicy and the best I’ve found in Winston Salem so far. Our entrees were also very good and we were both pleased. The service was top notch – our server was attentive and we were visited by management several times to make sure we were happy. I can’t wait to go back to try something else off the menu!

Hakka Chow offers the best Asian food in Winston-Salem! The atmosphere, quality and variety of food, and service is impressive! I’ve been many times and always have a perfect experience. Last night my husband took me for my birthday, and we had sushi – it was awesome! And we received a complimentary dessert. It was all wonderful. And Cameron, our waiter, took excellent care of us. And it’s locally owned and operated – another good reason for our support!

‘Southern’ Asian Food. This is better than the average Asian buffet-style cuisine, but it is not particularly authentic.

Good food horrendous service. Been here twice, both times seated in the bar area even though we do not drink. Very noisy area. Second visit waited over 50 minutes for food.Totally ignored by our servers( the bartenders) and management.Tried to get attention just to get drink refills and had to get up and walk to the bar even though our table was in full view of the bartenders. Bar itself had maybe 6 customers and tables in bar area 75% full but with 2 people and a manager working the area we should not have been ignored. Food finally came and dropped off by food runner. My husbands food was piping hot and mine was lukewarm. We tried to get attention of someone to tell them but totally ignored.I ate it anyway and bartender helper finally checked on us 10 minutes AFTER WE FINISHED EATING and brought the check. I used to own a restaurant and I never undertip but in this case it was totally warranted. We left $2.Will not go back.
