Follow up. Went here for the second time the other day because the first time was good. This was a mistake. The counter was being ran by a group of teenagers that acted as if they could care less about their jobs. There were three other people with me, and out of our four orders the three subs were waaay wrong. The man that ordered spaghetti got his right. Odd at a sub shop eh? To top all this off, it took them forever to correct the subs. They offered no partial refund or gift certificate etc. which is odd for a mistake of this size. Plus it was as if the quality of food has gone way down. Chicken tasted like it was spoiling, and the bread was like rubber. It will be a long time before I try this place again. It’s a shame. Great subs!. I have been going to Hero House for at least 15 years. I love the subs and keep going back. The staff is nice and the owners and their family members that work there are so nice.
The food was ok, but they nickle and dime you for everything. Ice water, 50 cents… Ranch, 75 cents. One of the best casual places to eat in Winston. Great selection of sandwiches and a bunch of Greek dishes too. Get there by 11:45 on weekdays or expect to wait in line–everybody loves it!
Great place and price! They have almost everything you could want. Subs, pasta and more.
