Only go on Wednesdays,,,,apparently. Food and service are great for Mac & Nelli’s, but the atmosphere is suspect. The restaurant is quite small – a bar area and maybe 25 tables (for 2 or 4). So why management thinks it is a great idea to have karaoke (and live music) with the acoustics fit for an auditorium (ie 3x or 4x the space) is beyond my understanding. I left with a massive headache between the loud music and having to yell across the table to be heard. Apparently Wednesday holds the only night you can enjoy the service, food AND atmosphere, per our waiter. Otherwise, don’t forget your earplugs!
Poor service, management. Service was unbelievably poor. Food is OK, but overpriced. Owners would be well-advised to monitor the satisfaction of patrons rather than watch TV.
Won’t be back. Don’t go unless you like warm bottled beer. It’s been like this since they’ve opened. We’ve complained before but we just won’t be back again.
Nothing Special. Table wasn’t clean when we were seated, service was inattentive.Had She Crab Soup for an appetizer, great flavor but no crab. Our meals were too smokey tasting, and an artificial smoke flavor. Spinach was oily and salty. No salads with meal and had to ask for bread. Atmoshpere was nothing special for the prices.
Good food….. Ate here for the first time and our food was very good….however, a little overpriced. If it had come with a small side salad, the prices would have been more in line. I had beef medallions and they were cooked exactly as I ordered…..with mashed potatoes and green beans. My husband got the crab cake with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The crab cake was very good also and came with a butter sauce and tartar sauce, but he used neither. The mashed potatoes were good (nothing spectacular), the green beans were very fresh, and the asparagus was good…although there were a couple of stalks that were past their prime and should not have made it onto the plate. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable! We will definitely go back, but will probably try some of their less expensive items. They have a varied menu that includes pasta dishes, pizza, sandwiches, burgers……Looking forward to trying some of those.Update: ate here again recently and should have stuck to my advice of trying a sandwich, pizza or burger….we were less satisfied this time than the last time…. still overpriced on the entrees, they really should just add a small house salad and a roll for those prices. My steak was good, cooked as I ordered (med-rare) but it was not allowed to rest and they carved it too soon and there was a bloody pool in my plate……the blood ran into my mashed potatoes that are still nothing special since the last time. I pushed the unaffected potatoes to the side and just ate those. The spinach was good also but a very smallllllll amount. Husband got the chicken piccata served over angel hair pasta….it was good, but again it should come with at least a small salad for those prices.
