Have traveled much and found this place to be amazing. A bit of a hole in the wall, but tastefully done inside. Fresh sushi, tons of exciting new special sushi rolls. They love mango, mango drizzle, lemon drizzle and crunchy potato mixed into their rolls. Ate the volcano roll and the out of control roll w a sexy white tuna appetizer. Plum wine was excellent as well, free appetizer at the sushi bar was a wonderful compliment. Haven’t gotten a free appetizer at a sushi bar in years!
This is my new favorite sushi place in the triad … I love Japanese food and would love to see more places that serve some blackened cod, ramen and sushi. Mizu has become a new favorite place for our family with its consistent food quality and freshness. I have tried most of their menu by now except may be the desserts. In the appetizers I like their rock shrimp and the harumaki . I didn’t particularly like their gyoza much. Their hibachi and noodles and just about oki but nothing special about them. Now let me get to why I love mizu. Their sushi is fresh and rolls are simply creative. I am a big fan of their special rolls I have liked a lot of them but my top favorite are crazy roll an all time favorite. I also like the volcano roll, twin roll and yes the foxy lady roll for days I am feeling experimental. I think their sushi is always fresh and never disappoints, which is why we keep coming back !!
Mizu is easily one of my favorite Triad restaurants, and I am amazed that I have not taken the time to review it yet. First of all, a warning: They recently started taking reservations for dinner, and you would be well advised to call ahead and place one before going. There waiting alcove seats about four people, and there are always people milling about as well. They are extremely busy, due to their proximity to Wake Forest University. However, their food is well worth any wait you may experience. The restaurant has a nice ambiance, with low lighting and dark wood furniture. Service is usually good, but sometimes less than great. The real reason to go here is for the sushi, which is the best I have had in the Triad. It always arrives chilled to the proper temperature, and the quality is superb. The portions are appropriate for the prices as well. They have a large selection of special rolls, but I often just go for the nigiri sushi dinner. For non-sushi diners, their hibachi dishes are a cut above the usual. My wife adores their tempura udon as well. Overall, I gave Mizu a 5 star review even with its occasional service issues, which is unusual for me, but I feel that due to the quality and value provided it is deserved. Bonus tip: Check out their website for $3-5 off coupons, which greatly enhance the value proposition here.
Great food. Very authentic sushi. Fresh. Kevin roll is amazing. I would recommend it to anyone.
Extremely good. The sushi is done beautifully and the ingredients also seem fresh. Haven’t tried the Hibachi, but for great sushi, this is the place to go.
Clean and Yummy!. I’ve finally found my sushi spot! I loved the fact that the cooks are Japanese, the restaurant is clean, and the sushi I had was delicious!
This place has the best sushi in town. The lunch specials are great. Will be back!
