Great place. It was my 1st time there and I was immediately serviced. The food was well priced and good. The lady that helped me was extremely nice and polite.
Terrible!. I decided to eat here because of the good reviews, my family was very disappointed in the quality of food, the spicy scallion chicken was not spicy and tasted old. The beef and broccoli tasted like a tv dinner and the fried chicken wings were undercooked. Also, they do not offer refills on soda, you must purchase by the can. This was the worst Chinese food I’ve ever eaten, save your money!
If one chooses items off the authentic menu you will not be disappointed.
So Nasty!. I only tried this place because of the good reviews. I was disgusted! The hot and sour soup looked like chicken and dumpling soup, and the mongolian beef had no flavor. Do not waste your money, or time.
Fantastic Chinese food. As good as the best restaraunts in Chinatown San Francisco.
Better than the buffets, but only slightly. Service was subpar, they were understaffed when we visited. Food came really quick(too quick to have been cooked to order) food was hot, but sauces were nothing special. The iced tea was remarkably bad and I ended up with water. Overall the portions are generous and the prices reasonable, also the restaurant is nice, but very dimly lit. Overall like 2 stars out of four
Delicious Chinese food. I’ve been going to Sampan for more than 10 years. It was the first Chinese place that I went to that wasn’t a buffet. The service is very friendly and efficient. I love their chicken and broccoli in garlic sauce. But I have really enjoyed trying things from their extended authentic menu – moosho pork, tin fu to fu (with pork), stuffed tofu with shrimp, stuffed eggplant with shrimp, ginger beef, willow chicken, chinese salad, and I could go on and on. They also have an excellent black mushroom soup – comes in two servings. The atmosphere is okay – a bit dark. Personally, I think if Sampan were to renovate their restaurant, they could easily be in the top 5 best restaurants in Winston. It’s a smart menu and I really enjoy the dishes. Sandy, the owner is always very pleasant and she’ll answer any questions you may have about the menu. I know the location isn’t the best – Peter’s Creek Pkwy – but I think the food is definitely worth it.
