Probably the best deal for Mexican food in Winston-Salem. I know, I’m new to the area, but after eating at several places and paying pretty high prices, this was a breath of fresh air.I got four tacos (I had chorizo, but they have several different options) and a Coke for $8.50. Also, Wake Forest students get an additional 10 percent off their meal. I tried with my University of Georgia ID, failed. Then again, I’ve been out of school for a year, I can’t exactly complain when I’m denied. The tacos are made with soft corn tortillas and are filled with cilantro, red onion and lime. You can also add red or green salsa. I have nothing but positive things to say about this place. When my friends come to visit or when I have some free time on an off day, I’ll be willing to drive for this place, no lie.
Best tacos in Winston-Salem. I have been coming to this place for five years now. Nobody knows about it! I’m amazed because this is the most authentic mexican food you can get anywhere outside of South Winston-Salem and Waughton Street. When I got to Wake Forest I was looking for the local spots, and this is definitely one. It is a small place, kind of a hidden gem hole in the wall, but they make a mean taco al pastor. I have tried everything and I have to say my favorites are the gorditas and tacos but they make really good burritos too, and for only $4.95! Try the carnitas and the chorizo. I really don’t get anything but pork and that’s how it should be.
Couldn’t ask for anything better. This is by far my favorite place to eat in Winston-Salem, and maybe anywhere. I wouldn’t have though of going here except I read charlotte’s review and decided to try it, and it was love at first sight. The torta al pastor is my favorite, a sandwich with great pork, lettuce, cheese, tomato, and carrots among other things. I would recommend getting the pork on anything, either the carnitas or al pastor, as both are very good. There really is no going wrong here.
