Dirty, Over Priced, Bad Food. > DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY, THE CITY SHOULD CLOSED THEM DOWN.I’m Italian, and while this restaurant claims to be Italian. it is anything but that,. Forget Italian, It’s not even Clean, soggy atmosphere, Sticky Table, dirty napkins, Bad Smell, etc, They got it all!>I order Antipasto, it was just some cold cuts over a mountain of lettuce. >Calamari Marinara, The Marinara was disgusting and good luck finding the Calamari.> Chicken Marsala looked like it was made with left overs, they were chicken bits, not chicken pcs. like everywhere else in the world.> Bread was old and soggy. > Will never go back, they should be ashamed!
Lunch specials are a bargain. We tried this after buying a Groupon. The lunch specials are very reasonably priced and the portions were a nice size. I had the spaghetti with meat sauce and my daughter had the pizza special. The sauces on the pizza and spaghetti were good. They use iceberg lettuce for the salad, which is not my favorite, but that’s the only thing I didn’t care for.
Way over priced!!. This restaurant is so overpriced for the quality of food you receive. The place is dark & dirty looking and is in need of a major renovation. Local pizzerias offer equal/ better food at cheaper prices!!!
Good Food, Poor Experience. It’d been a good 7 or 8 years since my family had made it out to Vincenzo’s. We always had such a great time and enjoyed the delicious food. I have to admit, the food hasn’t really changed. It’s still so delicious. But, this time around, our service was more than lacking. Having been a server myself for years, my mother too, we’re generally a very forgiving family. It was busy, but not nearly as much so as we’ve seen there before. Our waitress ignored us the majority of the night and was just plain rushing us out of there. On a night with an all-you-can-eat spaghetti special, she took up the first plate of spaghetti without asking if anyone wanted seconds, running off before anyone had a chance to say anything. I made an off-hand comment about how we clearly weren’t allowed to have seconds that was accidentally overheard by a server behind me. Sure enough, a second plate arrived shortly thereafter. But, when we left the restaurant, that server didn’t even have the decency to talk about us in the back kitchen, she had to talk about us to the manager at the front of house by the cash register as we were leaving. Poor form. We weren’t the least bit nasty about it while there, and I surely could have been. We were polite, tipped well, etc. But I was so affronted by the service of our waitress and the behavior of the other wait staff, that I felt compelled to come write this review somewhere. Unacceptable.
Mom & Pop Style Italian…. Vincenzo’s is a mom & pop style Italian restaurant, unlike any other Italian chain-restaurant that you’ll ever at, which makes for an interesting experience. I grew up coming to Vincenzo’s when my family and it’s still very much the same, which many people may think it needs an update, I enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere. The servers have went a little down hill over the years, but there’s still a few familiar faces. I don’t recommend Vincenzo’s as a place to accommodate a large party, as it’s a rather small building and parking is little difficult during heavy traffic.
Pretentious, Needs Updating. I’d been curious to eat here for awhile based on the consistent number of cars in the restaurant’s parking lot. However, Winston-Salem residents may not have the most refined palette. When we came in, a lady greeted us at the checkout counter/hostess stand, but then we had to wait about 5-10 minutes until a gentlemen appeared to take us to out table, as it was apparent that she was not allowed to seat us. Our host, while affable and polite, was dressed in a suit, suggesting that this restaurant was a 4-star high dollar restaurant, which it’s not.The decor is dated, reminiscent of the 1960’s and 1970’s with its dark carpet, dim lighting, and candelit tables. While this might be a turnoff for some, I found it a bit charming, but maybe in need of a bit of updating. What happened next still baffles me. Our waitress was incredibly sullen. She didn’t introduce herself. Not did she let us know what the specials were. Thank goodness there was a sign out front with the night’s specials. All the servers wear a bow tie and white shirt, suggesting it’s a very swanky restaurant. Yet the average entree price is $14, which doesn’t match the serving staff’s attire. Nor do the crunchy Lance brand bread sticks on the table. Seriously? Only restaurants like Pizza Hut would offer this to its diners. It was a bit of a wait for the food, but I will credit the chef in saying that the food was satisfactory. I wasn’t blown away, but the sauce and pasta did taste fresh which is a big plus for them, considering how often restaurants don’t use fresh ingredients. Bread was served with our meal, but the sliced bread was soft and a bit soggy–not crisp as it should be coming out of the oven.I was disappointed that salads aren’t available to everyone ordering entrees–especially when all that’s available to eat while waiting for the food are the pre-packaged bread sticks. When we left, the host genuinely thanked us for coming out. (He must be the owner’s son?) That was a nice touch. I won’t say that I’ll never go back. I like the idea of a family owned restaurant with its own unique charm, but Vincenzo’s needs to do a bit of updating to stay current.
AMAZING italian restaurant!. This restaurant has been an old-time competitor with Paul’s down the street, but I will tell you – I went to Paul’s, and did not like it anywhere near as much! Vincenzo’s has the best food I have ever had as far as italian in this city! The restaurant is a very pleasant to go as well, the lighting is perfect, the staff is very attentive, and the food…well, is INCREDIBLE! No matter what I get, I am just enjoying beyond belief! I would reccoment this place to anybody, and it is a great place to take a date!
