Baby Back Ribs. Cooked on site, very meaty, great sides, big portions!22 Feb, 2015Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.. Locally owned sit down restaurant, very clean and orderly, prompt service, waitress will ask to make sure you have everything you need. Big tumbler of soda pop, will offer a to go cup if you can’t drink it all. Big menu with lots of items to choose from. As nice as it is, I was surprised why the traffic was only 2-3 couples at a time. Two flat screen TV’s going on opposite sides of the room. There is a long bar with stools with stout drinks to be had, as well as high table and tall chairs, I didn’t count but maybe at least a dozen tables. In addition to BBQ there were salads and many sandwiches. Lots of sides to choose from, we had baked potato, corn on the cob, baked beans and potato salad and all were excellent. I was very pleased with my beans and potato salad and roll as they had good flavor. Perhaps soured cream in potato salad, very tasty. The baked beans were slightly sweet, tangy and had beef brisket piece added. Great food, great service, why aren’t more people going there!? There is a short deli case with meats, cheese to take home, looked like you can get custom sliced bacon? Too full for deserts and my wife could only eat half her large dinner plate, can’t wait to try them for breakfast and for lunches! Please! Gastonia! support this spot! There are three BBQ sauces, two homemade, molasses, vinegar and Sweet Baby Ray’s. For the two baby back rib dinners with two sides each and a roll plus two soda’s it was a tad over $30.00.

The best smoked pork I have had in the whole state of North Carolina! I thought the pork was good until I tried the homemade coconut cake – almost turned around and went back and bought the whole thing. Super prices and service.
Meat too smokey. Food was over smoked and nasty tasting. service real good and the hometown place is very clean and neat. good prices, but need a new cook. may try them one more time.
These guys can cook! I had pulled pork and ribs along with onion rings and tater salad….all of it was worth ordering again. Both sauces are really good, whether you like vinegar or sweet. The pulled pork was perfectly done with enough bark to take it over the top. It was some of the best restaurant pulled pork that I have had. Onion rings were great, beer battered and crisp. Tater salad was homemade with mostly mayo and bits of pig. Gonna be back soon to try the brisket.
Found this little place on google. Not sure what to expect. This place has great service and excellent food. I had the ribs and potato salad both were out of this world. Do not miss the opportunity to enjoy good home style bbq.
Ray’s Beef Brisket. Ray’s Smokehouse and Grill serves the best Beef Brisket and Potato Salad in Gastonia, N.C. They serve many other delicious dishes and they often feature live music on the weekends. If you’ve never been, you really need to check it out.
