Fantastic place to stop in!. This is a great place to stop in for the perfect latte and a bite of food when I’m near UNCG or the GSO Coliseum. The remodel looks fantastic! The new seating is super comfy to hang out a while, better quality gelato, new menu with wider variety, brew by the cup options, and the fresh paint is inviting!
A Coffee Shop that Rivals Tate Street?!. Having gone to UNCG for many, many years, I’m intimately familiar with the culture of Tate Street. When Coffeeology opened several years ago, skeptics said it wouldn’t last…however, the coffee, food, and atmosphere speak for themselves. It’s a great coffee place, and i was a regular when I lived in Greensboro!
Located in the heart of a college town, this little nook had a typical coffee-shop atmosphere with a diverse menu to please both coffee and breakfast seekers. The food is made in-house with real ingredients, and the prices are very reasonable. Delicious waffles – I had the peanut butter & banana, with two bisected bananas, a generous dollop of peanut butter, and a garnish of whipped cream. My boyfriend had the chocolate chip waffle, with Ghirardelli chips, chocolate sauce, and a white chocolate glaze. I would definitely go here often if I lived in town.
Very chill atmosphere
One of the best cups in town. I am a bit of a coffee snob after visiting small plantations on a trip to Costa Rica. I fill up a stainless mug every morning in Greensboro and Coffeology is my first choice for a robust, flavorful brew that is not bitter. The staff are knowledgeable although not all that friendly. One day I’ll order a $3.00 fancy drink and maybe they’ll smile!
Friendly, knowledgeable baristas; a comfy, student-friendly environment; free Wi-Fi; and a cup of coffee to die for. And they’re right across the street from the famous Tate Street Coffee, showing healthy market competition in action. Coffeeology is my personal heaven on earth. (The food items are a bit hard on a student’s wallet, though, so consider heading a couple doors down to Subway when lunchtime arrives.)
Good coffee, bad service. I used to go to this coffee shop all the time. However, two different times in the span of a month or so, the guy taking orders/running the register has let someone else walk up to the counter and break in line to place the order. On both occasions I told the guy I had been in line first, and he just said he hadn’t noticed who was next and continued working on the other person’s order. Most of the time people still have manners about lines, but when this happens to you it affects your perception of the place. If the employees can’t keep track of who is in line, they should have a space marked off for the line so people can’t just walk up and cut in. There is a Starbucks nearby, and although they are more expensive, I will go there from now on because they have a system established to handle the large number of customers you get when near a University.
