Never Disappoints!. This little place never, never disappoints in the quality of food or service, and the variety is a nice plus, and they open at 10 AM on Saturdays so you can get your choices before the lunch crowd. The parking can be a problem on Saturdays because Danny’s at the other end of the small strip center usually draws a huge breakfast crowd, as was the case today. We chose a variety of items, with several meals in mind – 2 Hot Italian Sausages, 2 Mid Italian Sausages, an Italian Sub (one of the very best in the Triad), an Italian style Chef Salad, an order of Seafood Salad (Italian style), 12 Italian Meat Balls (made of a combination of beef, pork, and veal – outstanding!), and a quart of their regular Tomato Sauce. The Chef Salad ($7.95) is indeed interesting – greens of course, roasted Red Peppers, marinated Eggplant, chopped Onion, some chopped Ham, and a little Provolone Cheese, with Italian Dressing. This combination makes a very different, a very good, Chef Salad, with the taste of the peppers and the eggplant especially nice. What would take this salad over the top would be additional ham and cheese to balance the sharper flavors of the peppers and eggplant. The Italian Sub ($7.49) is a little small compared with others in the area, but the taste is special, with the excellent, crusty roll perfectly setting off the taste of the meat, cheese, and dressing. This sub is absolutely one of my very favorites. The Seafood Salad is yet another favorite, loaded with shrimp, calamari & octopus, along with celery, onions, and plenty of olive oil based dressing. It is a little expensive at $14.95 per pound – we usually get a half pound, or so.The Tomato Sauce ($7.95 for a quart) is house made, and excellent. They offer a variety of house made tomato based sauces, but this one is our favorite. The Meatballs are also made in house have a great rich flavor, especially when browned, then braised slowly in the Tomato Sauce. The Italian Sausages ($5.95 a pound) are also outstanding, and are found in a host of local restaurants like Green Valley Grill, Print Works Bistro, and many more.31 Dec, 2011As Much A Deli As A Market, Both Great. Giacomo’s (pronounced JOK-uh-mo’s)is a very Nnce place for meats, cheeses, sandwiches, sides, sauces, olives, etc. – this is as much a market as it is a deli. A lot of their meats are homemade including a variety of sausages, salami, pepperoni, soppressata, pastrami, and more. They also make their own braciole, meatballs, pasta, and a number of sauces for pasta. A variety of breads, salads, and dessrts are also available. They have both hot and cold sandwiches, served on a crusty sub roll, and all are excellent. The Italian Stallion with salami, capicola, provolone with toppings is a great sandwich for $6.95 The Deno (roast beef), and The Bruscino (hot soppressata, hot capicola, provolone & toppings) are also very nice choices – also $6.95. Their hot sandwiches, especially The Sausage & Peppers, are also good – same price. The Sausage & Peppers is big, and messy – they slice the sausage into rounds rather than using the link entact – messy, but tasty. This little shopping center is busy on Saturdays because of this place, and Danny’s Diner at the other end, but there is additional parking on the side and rear of the stores. There is limited seating here, 6 or 8 small tables, and a small amount of outdoor seating.
