Slow, table of four entrees ranged from inedible to mediocre at best. Only one entree was warm. The calamari was good. Why does the review have to be 140 characters?

Mambo italiano!. Giovanni’s Italian cuisine is a triple threat knockout! Excellent service: Tony and Tonya were hands down the greatest waiters ever conceived. They wisked us through the courses on a gondala of flavor, imagination, and professionalism. The food: the presentation in itself is worth a trip, art for the sake of delicious art! The kitchen staff work with the vituostic excelence of a concert pianist. Arpeggios of flavor cascade from dish to dish flawlessly. The atmosphere: you are first greeted with sculpture and paintings, live music and fresh flowers. The bartender heather prepared for us elegant cocktails fit for royalty! We will certainly return to Giovanni’s for years to come. If you are in Greensboro do yourself a service and endulge in classic Italian the way it should be done. Highest recommendation!!

Terrible. We purchased groupon. Required to disclose @ time of reservation. Quality of Ribeye was that served at Waffle House for $9.99. Ordered med rare, served well done. Sent back and server returned and said chef said ‘to use flashlight on our cell phone’ also only beef left in house. Chef refused to speak to use. Host apologized and charged for wine only. We will NOT take guests here and do not recommend. Will ONLY return to use groupon. Very disappointed.

Went for the first time. I see the place is butchered here on urban but had heard great things in person from a lot of people I know in the area. We were met by a friendly attentive host, who checked in with us towards the end of our meal to see how everything was. Our server was great. When asked for recommendations she took the time to go through in detail about several of her favorite dishes. I settled on veal parm. A decent portion, fork tender. No knife needed, in a rich meat sauce. Things are al-a carte, which is nice since you can skip the pasta, get a single serve portion or a family size. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and you have your choice of any sauces at no up charge. (Even Alfredo). Prior and during our meal the waitress brought bread, which was about the best I have had since moving here from upstate NY. It served with olive oil and balsamic, with Parmesan, diced garlic, and crushed red pepper in piles placed on the plate so you can dip into what you like. Butter is available if you ask, which is my favorite, as it melts into the piping hot crusty bread . For dessert I had a cannoli, packed full with a crisp shell as it should be. Not some soggy pre filled mess that I have experienced other places in the triad . Give this place a try. Great service. Friendly people. Fantastic Italian food.

Bad Decision. What once was a good restaurant is now horribly overpriced with mediocre food. This will be our last visit to this establishment.
