Bad Service. The gelato is good but I wouldn’t go back for anything. The owner is rude and the prices are far too expensive for what it is worth. The servers were rude and pretentious to say the least, probably due to their charming boss (sarcasm). I will not support a business that overcharges customers and indulges selfishness. You might as well buy gelato from the fresh market if you are really craving it where the workers are polite and value customer service. I advise you not to eat here. It is not worth the frustration.

What a waste…. Thank God for Groupon. That is the only way I would try places like this. I work hard for my money and like to get the most out of it. Even with fifty percent off it was a waste. Yes it is all hand crafted, but you could get a better deal at the fresh market next door, and definitely better customer service. Good food is one thing, but total customer focus is by far the most important. Do not expect it here. The mango and coconut gelato I order was superb. Your taste-buds will sing a Canon in D. I would have of rated it higher if it wasn’t for the rude service…There are too many great dessert and bistro in GSO to have to support an ungrateful businesses. I agree that the staff were rude and pretentious to say the least. I will not be back as there are other establishments that would be happy to have my business. You will probably be served by that cranky Italian described in other post. My guess is that he is the owner. Please do not inquire about the part time position posted on the front of the store, unless you are a five star chef that would probably like being bitched at. I learned my lesson. He missed out on a highly motivated hard worker. Places like this scare away my generation. I hope he can make it with the baby boomers. That is all this place may attract. STAY AWAY!

To Die for Homemade Goodness. I was amazed at the rich flavor of the gelato. Then to find out they make the gelato from scratch on site I was even more thrilled. The prices are more than reasonable. Spent the same or less money than we did when we ate at a fast food place on our last vacation through NC. This was a much better experience in the same amount of time.I have no doubt that my family would return. I wish we had one of these in our state. Til then Gnam Gnam will be our new pit stop on our journey south.

Great Bistro. My wife and I love to try out new places and had not been to Gnam Gnam yet, although we had heard of it. She found a groupon deal and we stopped by for lunch.Selim Oztalay has created a wonderful little spot with a great menu and fresh food. I tried the California BLT and she had the Jerk Chicken sliders.Stephany enjoyed her sliders and my BLT was the best I have tried to-date in the Triad (or the state for that matter!)We both agreed that the simple bag of plain potato chips could have been replaced with a better side option or at least a choice of flavors (perhaps there is and I missed that detail)…and although my BLT was the best in NC that I have tried to date, it could have had a few more rashers of B!…but that’s nitpicking – the food was yummy. The best part was the gelato! Great deal as an add-on to cap off your meal for a dollar and change is a quick couple of scoops.Keep it up Selim! We love it!

Fabby. We had a groupon, so we decided to visit for the first time. We really enjoyed the conversation we had with the cook. He also let us know more info about the Gelato which is awesome at this place. We did enjoy all the different flavors of the gelato. Their sandwiches and soup are also great. We will definitely return.

Decent food, medicore service. For what it was I found the food to be a tad on the high side personally. I also requested my sandwich with no mayo only to have it come out smothered in it. The moderatly overpriced food, order mistake, and lackluster cashier/server who simply was not very friendly or outgoing certainly put Gnam Gnam off to a rough start. However, I know that the owner attempts to use local products when possible and does make the gelato from scratch which offer big bonus points in my mind. The panini (once fixed) was good for what it was, and the gelato was tasty as well. Having the opportunity to talk directly to the cook, who was very knowledgable, also helped salvage what had previously been a piss poor C/S experience. Id eat there again if it was convenient but would probably not go out of way unless I had a strong hankering for gelato.

Great Pannini. Best ever pannini; much, much tastier than Panera. And don’t forget the Gelato; intense and a nice change from ice cream.
