The food is good, but it takes a long time to get it. They seem to wait and prepare orders in batches. I’ve waited up to 25 minutes for my lunch. This is way too long for a takeout restaurant at lunch time.
A different Kobe?. After reading some of the negative reviews, I think they or I was eating at a different restaurant. But seriously, most Japanese restaurants in our area are sit-down restaurants that offer a more extensive menu, table service, drinks, and just happen to have take-out service. Kobe is a take out restaurant that happens to have about eight tables. First, I found the service pretty good but our order person has always been a courteous young woman, not the burly and rude man described by other reviewers. Second, there are indeed only two hibachi cooks and several prep staff. My wife and I have also had to wait during the peak and dinner periods. If folks didn’t like Kobe, then why does the line often extend go out the door during these periods. Our solution is to eat there or take out food during non-peak hours. By comparison, try getting into to get into Dames, the Village Tavern, and other popular restaurants after 7:30 — lots of luck. Lastly, my wife and I found the food to be very good. The Hibachi beef is tender and not overcooked and the same for the chicken. I personally like the hibachi snapper dishes. The entrees and combos come with some of the freshest and perfectly cooked vegetables I’ve had at any restaurant.
Ok I used to like this place…. But WOW. They take forever to make ur order. Even when its not that busy! They have one little grill so its like they can only make so many orders at a time. Oh- and the icing on the top- they all freaking rude!!
Very slow and rude service. Food is decent but not worth it.
If you can tolerate. The food is good for the price, however, the service is incredibly slow and the gentleman that typically runs the cash register and takes orders is rude. I would recommend eating there if you can tolerate the slow service and rude staff.
Decent food but horrible, impolite and slow service. Called in orders are never ready and you can expect to stand around for 20 minutes if you walk in. I thought this happening once was a fluke – I was wrong! Never again will I waste my time here.
Meh. I’ve had much better Japanese, cheaper before. And they only give you like 3 sweet carrots. Also, very slow.
