I’m a full time rv’er that travels the country so I eat everywhere 24/7 and I must say this is my favorite place in the entire USA! I’ve been to places that are like Lucky 32 and I haven’t found anything in the entire country that compares… the closest I would say is Cookshop in NYC or Beauty Shop in Memphis TN — although I love both places, they are no where near as good as Lucky. I’ve actually been to both the Greensboro and the Carey NC location of Lucky 32. Even my mother-in-law who is a critical diner loves this place. The staff are wonderful, always cheerful, friendly, jovial, sweet. They check in on you just the perfect amount — not over-kill — but they are definitely very attentive, if you don’t like something they take it right off. Everything is very clean — the silverware has no water spots. The atmosphere is very nice, they have a beautiful little outdoor garden patio, and the inside reminds you of fine dining but with a casual flair. The Brunch is TO DIE FOR!! I try to stay away from bread and carbs but the cornbread that comes out before the meal is like nothing I’ve ever experienced… and normally I don’t even like corn bread.. it’s sweet and buttery and flakey.. just the right consistency.. its delicious. Their twice baked grits with eggs, is so flavorful it bursts in your mouth.. it is just creamy and cheesy enough to be perfect.. it’s even better if you add the eggs into the grits. There is such a selection of food — whatever your dietary restrictions or tastes are, you will find it on the constantly changing menu. The jams they home-make locally are delicious and unique — the Watermellon jam my wife absolutely loves. Dinner is just as fabulous as brunch. I have not had a bad meal yet. The Shrimp and Grits is delicous — creamy — almost like a soup — i will admit I haven’t had shrimp and Grits anywhere else so I don’t have anything to compare to but it was simply delicious and I really enjoyed my first Shrimp and Grits. The pork loin was so flavorful it just melted in your mouth. My favorite is the creamy sweet potatoes. They are not loaded with sugar, they are perfectly done — creamy, whipped, and just the right amount of natural sweet from the yam. The southern crescent chicken sandwich is probably my favorite meal there — and easy to order and just as wonderful without bread if you don’t want the bread or carbs.
