A perfect storm of miserably prepared food and subpar service. I regret choosing Mark’s as the spot to kick off the New Year festivities. Our server had ZERO personality and the presentation was average at best. I especially loved the giant lettuce stalk in my $6 Caesar side salad and the skin on the gravy of my chicken Marsala bc it clearly had been sitting in the expo window for too long. Our server failed to introduce himself upon greeting the table and didn’t bother to wish us a good evening or thank us when all was said an done. He gave us the credit card payment and walked off.
Happy Anniversary. Excellent meal and superb service. The goat cheese salad was wonderful! The filet melt in your mouth with creamed potatoes and vegetables. As several others reviewers have commented, do not miss the creme brulee. Best meal I’ve had in 7 years!!
Amazing Food. I had been wanting to go to Mark’s for some time and I finally convinced my husband that we needed a date night. We both agreed to give Mark’s a try and were not disappointed. The service was amazing from start to finish. The decor is tasteful and very relaxing. Perfect for a date night. And the food? I thought I had died and gone to heaven! It was amazing!! Sure, it’s a little pricey, but it was well worth it. I highly recommend the goat cheese salad and the creme brulee. My husband enjoyed his fish very much too.
Wonderful Dinner. My husband and I had dinner last night at Mark’s. It was our first visit and will not be our last. We enjoyed conch fritters for a starter. Tasty and plenty of conch flavor and texture. For our main courses my husband ordered the ostrich cooked med-rare at our server’s recommendation. Once his entree arrived there was not a single word passed between the two of us until he had devoured his meal. I ordered the cowboy rib-eye cooked med-rare and could not have been happier. Enjoyed just a couple of bites because my goal was dessert and I was making sure to have room. We ordered the bread pudding which I did not try and the creme brulee’ which my husband was very lucky to get even a spoonful. Delightful. Our server did a fantastic job and we cannot wait to return.
No Menu Required. Mark’s is certainly and without question the best restaurant in Greensboro and one of the best in the entire southeast. We travel North, South and Central America as well as across the United States and find it difficult for any restaurant to provide a better culinary experience. All of Marks dishes are splendid, however our current favorites from the menu are the Veal Marsala and Salmon. However, what we like the most is that we don’t use the menu; rather we ask Mark what he has fresh that day and he creates a list of suggestions from there, as well as suggesting the latest and greatest wine to compliment. This is what we consider true personal service. If Mark can make food that my wife raves over, he must be the best chef that ever was.
Awesome lunch!. The pimento cheese and fried green tomato sandwich on sourdough ranks as one of the best sandwiches ever! The taste and freshness were incredible. Also really enjoyed the fresh, homemade blueberry cheesecake. Can’t wait to return!
