Let’s talk cupcakes. In a sea of cupcakes and icing, Maxie B’s is a welcome respite of really delicious spongey cake with not-hurt-your-teeth sweet icing and original flavors. Cupcakes may be a fad in some places but here they are around for a long time because they are just delicious. I may or may not have gained a few pounds eating their oreo, apple, and red velvet cupcakes. That doesn’t matter.
Southern sweets. The cakes at Maxie B’s are divine, their cupcakes are great too. The frosting is my favorite here as they have great varieties and everything is melt-on-your tongue delightful. The mocha cupcake has the best frosting, but the chocolate mousse cupcake with raspberry icing has the best balance as sometimes the cake itself on the cupcakes will get a little bit dry, but the mousse really counters that well. The gluten free cupcakes are also good, the cake part is a bit dense but still tasty and of course their icing is phenomenal. Their cookies are hit or miss, the snowball melts on your tongue like heaven, but the chocolate chip cookies are just normal cookies, which would be fine if they were a little less pricey. All the cakes are definitely worth the prices and more, and if you ever get a chance to order their petit fours, I got to try them once at a party and they are fantastic. Unfortunately, I’ve yet to see them available day-to-day to try, which is a pity, as they rock the house.
If you had a southern grandma, this is exactly how her cakes would taste. Dense cake with the best butter or cream cheese frosting ever. There are no bakeries I found who do a better job.
Lemon almond buttercream is heaven! Beautiful location, always delicious cakes… And real buttercream icing. They also have a beautiful presentation to their desserts.
Good stuff!. Delishious cake, tons of options, nice atmosphere with plenty of seating. What more can you ask from a cake place?
Great Place. Great desserts! My husband and I split a slice of the orange dreamsicle cake and it was Delish! Very nice, relaxed atmosphere as well
Best Cupcakes. Cupcakes are fantastic here. Just enough dessert! Lots of different flavors.
