Had dinner here tonight. Everything was wonderful from the service to the food. Best meatballs I have ever had and my dinner companion raves about the manicotti. The servings are gracious and everything I have ever had has been delicious and modestly priced. The spaghetti pepperoni is a long time favorite and the lasagna as well. So yummy. It has never disappointed.
Slipping Badly. T had been awhile since we had visited this Southern Greensboro/Sedgefield comfort food icon, so we planned lunch after visiting the next door local meat market. This was not our best experience here from both a food and service perspective. We arrived just after 11 AM, were quickly seated, drinked up, and ordered up. We order 2 of the daily specials, Lasagne and the Chopped Steak. The side for the Lasagne was a tossed salad with blue cheese dressing (made in house & excellent), and it came promptly. Our entrees took over 25 minutes to arrive – no one else was being served either, so it was definitely a kitchen problem. The Lasagne was not nearly as good as we had experience before – the sauce was fine, but there was an underlying taste to the lasagne itself that was not pleasant. The Chopped Steak was simply cooked to death – it was completely void of any form of moisture. The sides were fried okra and lima beans, and both were super. The limas were very, very well seasoned.Bill for the entire lunch with drinks came to $14.76, so pricing is not a problem here. The quality of the food was not up to the standards we have experienced here before. And the service was simply S L O W – if a restaurant turns on its sign & opens it doors, it needs to be ready to serve its food. Disappointing experience.18 Jun, 2011Definitely Something For Everyone. With a very expansive menu featuring Greek, Italian, and American cuisine items, a variety of sandwiches, and even Pizza, there’s literally something for everyone here – if you can not find something on the menu or the numerous daily specials, you weren’t really hungry. The Italian dishes that I’ve tried are all excellent versions, including Lasagne (my favorite here), Spaghetti with Meat Sauce, and the Fettuccine Alfredo (which you ca get as a small side dish for $3.70 – the dinner portion at $9.50 is just too much richness for me).The Greek Style Chicken is another personal favorite – it is a full 1/2 a chicken, – marinated in Greek spices and some lemon, and a good value at $9.95. The Greek Combination gives a nice variety of items, including 2 Stuffed Grape Leaves, which they do very well here. The salads here are all nice, if for no other reason than their home-made dressing, especially the Blue Cheese, The Thousand Islands, and the Ranch. The have steaks, pizza, sandwiches, and broiled seafood – but I try them rarely – I enjoy the authentic Greek and Italiam items too much. They have a Senior Citizns & Childrens menu which offers smaller portions at reduced prices – nice deal for the smaller appetite or the smaller pocketbook. The service is generally good, but can suffer at peak times because this place does get very busy – I’ve never had a bad meal here, but I have had a slow one occasionally.
An old favorite. Our family has eaten at Pavilion for many years. We keep coming back because the food is consistently good. Nothing fancy, just well prepared and reasonably priced Greek-influenced cuisine. Plenty of variety on the menu so no worries even if you’re not fond of Greek.
This place is great. Very good consistent food in a homey atmosphere.
