Solid Meat & 2 Place. Had a chance to drop in on this place recently for lunch – my first visit in several months – and the food and service are still solid, and the prices remain reasonable. This is a local, family run, southern cooking/meat & 2 restaurant in a small strip shopping center off Randleman Road, just around the corner from Sub Station II – not the most scenic part of Greensboro, but 2 good lunch spots in the same block.Lunch fare here is the typical plate offerings of a small diner, with changing daily specials. The fried chicken is excellent, and I was lucky that the day I ate there, was fried chicken day. The country style steak is nice, as is the baked chicken. All the veggies are nice, and cooked in the southern manner. The bread offerings are only so-so. Meat and 2 priced at about $8.The hot dog here is very nice, with a rich, meaty chili – and your normal southern style wiener. The hamburger is also nice, but somewhat on the small size compared to some places. FF are just ok.The breakfasts here are very good – I’ve eat breakfast here a number of times. My brother swears the tenderloin biscuit is the best around, and it is good, but Country BBQ still does it best, imo. What I really like here is they cook your eggs the way you ask for.The service is always good from this group of ladies, most seemed to have been here forever. Maybe not a destination spot, but if the opportunity arrives, you might want to give this place a try.

My husband had me meet him there for lunch this week. I had never ate there. I had out two children with us and everyone loves the food. One of them said, its like what Granny cooks. It was so good that we had a to go order. We will be going back. Awesome place to eat anytime or if you want real food and don’t want to take the time to do it right. I’ll admit, I’m guilty of that one.

Almost as good as mom’s. Great place. Home style cooking. Daily meat and vegetable options. Defiantely don’t leave hungry. The staff offers great service and food is served up quickly.

Spring Valley Restaurant. This place has been at the same location forever. The fried chicken on Thursday is wonderful. Frank, the owner, breads it with his secret batter. It is to die for. Wait staff is very friendly and you get your food quickly. Frank also has special breading for tenderloin and fish. Cat-head bisquits and corn bread. They open early for breakfast and close at 2:00 each day. Most always a line at lunch but it moves quickly.
