Nice, Inexpensive Amercanized Chinese Buffet. The is a very, very nice Americanized Chinese buffet, with all the usual suspects, and a few twists thrown in. It is located in the Pyramid Village off Cone Blvd, where the Walmart is located. The place is well lit, clean and bright, with plenty of seating – i’d advise getting a table as the booths are not at all comfortable.The buffet line is large, not as large as China Buffet on Big Tree Way or Ichiban on High Point Rd, but close. The Chicken Wings are very much to my taste – crispy with nice flavor. The Vegetable Fried Rice is also good, grains nicely separated, good taste, though a dose of soy sauce is needed, imo.. The Black Pepper Chicken here is just ok, a little bit of underlying sweetness which detracts from this particular dish. Lo Mein is good, as well.They have a nice Spicy Chicken with Jalapeno peppers, spicy and with just the right amount of heat. The Egg Rolls and Spring Rolls are typically what you find on a buffet line, soft and a little soggy, though the taste was not bad. They also offer Sushi, some Italian dishes, including a small amount of Pizza. There was also Apple Pie – encased in a nice looking crusty, similar to how a stromboli is prepared. There was also Chinese Buns and several soup choices, but I’d avoid the Wanton Soup as it is very, very bland – very weak broth.Service was excellent, and the pricing is very good – buffet with drink was $8.00. This is a very nice choice if you are craving Americanized Chinese food in a nice environment with great service and pricing.
