Some Nice Fresh Tasting Choices Here. For our first experience with the food here, we started with Crispy Spring Rolls (3 for $4.50) and Thai Spicy Puffs ($8 for 4 is pretty expensive). For the entrees, we had Basil Fried Rice with Chicken ($9.50), Red Curry With Shrimp ($12.95), Spicy Cashew Nuts with Beef ($9.50), and finally, Pad Kapow with Chicken ($9.50).The Spring Rolls were very well fried, crispy, with no greasiness, and the taste was nice, especially with the dipping sauce. This is a vegetarian roll, so it is a light appetizer. The Thai Spicy Puffs are thick pastry, the texture is like that of a shortbread cookie but slightly softer, filled with a small amount of ground chicken and potato (sweet, I think). Not my favorite, but my wife loved them, for the sweetness mostly. Both of the dishes that contained chicken were nicely seasoned with lots of fresh tasting vegetables. The problem we had with both dishes is that the small amount of chicken was pretty much tasteless, and it was a small amount. The slices of white meat chicken are very thin (pounded I guess), and are overcooked, and absorb none of the flavors of the dishes. Would re-order both dishes with either shrimp or beef, but definitely not chicken. The Red Curry with Shrimp was excellent, with a nice balance of sweet and heat. Would definitely order it again, but would raise the heat level a notch or two. The Spicy Cashew Nuts with Beef was very, very nice with a some building heat levels, didn’t encounter much in the way of Cashews, by sight or taste. Another dish we’d re-order.All in all, this was a good food experience, and once tweaked to more closely fit our tastes, it will be even better. The portions are rather small, rivaling those of Indian restaurants, so these are good eats, but not cheap eats for the most part.
Great and a big amount!. This restaurant was a quick bite to eat, but I was surprised at the quality of the food and the amount. I ate half of my food and still half left to bring home. The service there was excellent, always happy to help. I would recommend anyone who likes Thai or other Asian food.
Good Thai and Friendly Atmosphere. I was visiting friends in Greensboro and looked up some Thai places in the area and decided on Thai Corner Kitchen. They had a really great selection on their menu, but they also had quite a few specials to choose from. My boyfriend and I got the duck spring rolls, pad kapow, and massaman curry. Everything was delicious! Our lunch entrees came with a salad, which was unexpected and nice – the ginger dressing was really good. I loved the spring rolls – they were fresh, crunchy, and the duck inside was fantastic. I had the pad kapow with chicken and extra vegetables, and they really delivered on the extra vegetables. My plate was loaded with cabbage, bell peppers, jalapenos, onions, and carrots plus a huge side of rice. The sauce on was a little sweet and very savory. Everything was delicious and super filling. The staff were all incredibly friendly and nice, even asking our opinions about the dishes. There were a couple of regulars in there, who the waitress obviously knew well and they were laughing and talking like friends. Overall I think this is a great little place that we will definitely be coming back to next time we’re in Greensboro.
First off, I came here hoping to love it and I’m saddened that I didn’t. The flavor characterics to authentic Thai cuisine are typically very bold and strong, but Thai Corner Kitchen is lacking in the essential ingredients–I tried the Drunken noodle dish and it wasn’t spicy at all, it was bland. I also tried the Crab wontons and they were crispy or adequately filled. Everything was subpar.
Great Thai food. This place is great try it, You are sure to like it.
Thai Corner Kitchen is awesome. I especially love the Pattaya Chicken Noodles. Timmy and his staff is so accommodating. He will find out what flavors you like and help you pick out a great dish. I brought my 11 year old daughter and 2 friends there for lunch, he help them and they all loved what he picked out for them.01 Aug, 2012SO Good !!!!!
