Very Nice Gyro Here!. Subs sounded spot on one day last week, so why not go to the Sub Spot? The food here is consistently solid, and the service always excellent – markedly better than any of the chains, and right in there with the vast majority of local sub and specialty sandwich restaurants. They have expanded into the small space beside them, and that area has 12 to 15 small tables. The area is bright and airy, very appealing for a quick lunch, and though we usually get our orders to go, we’ll definitely plan on eating in the new area soon.We tried the Turkey Avocado Sub with Provolone Cheese, and really enjoyed it – very nice flavor, everything nice & fresh. The Italian Sub was another choice, and as always, it was excellent. The Gyro here is especially nice. The meat is sliced very thin, it is tender, and loaded with flavor. All the sandwiches are well sized, and the fillings are always plentiful. The Fries here are excellent & shouldn’t be missed.18 Jul, 2011Beats The Chains In Taste & Service. Really nice, broad menu at this tiny place tucked into Brassfield Shopping Center, and they’re open seven days a week – on Mon thru Sat they open at 10AM so you can get a jump on lunch. They have all the usual suspects – BLT, Tuna and Chicken Salad, and a great Italian sub. The Sub Spot Club and the Veggie are nice, but I’m not a big fan of their Gyro. The Meatball, Steak & Cheese, and the Reuben all are worth a try. Their 6 inch subs are $4.95, $2 more for a footlong. You can build your own sub with 2 meats and cheese with whatever toppings for the same price. The salads are nice, their fries are good as well. They use Boar’s Head products, and the bread is very nice, especially the regular sub roll. These are nice, efficient, and friendly folks – everytime I’ve been in there the manager/owner is there. Not much seating here. Beats the heck out of the chains.
