Those who are about to try this place, i have a one word advice for you: DON’T. First and foremost, their food is similar to typical take out chinese restaurants. Second, the service is below average. We had to wait at least 5 minutes before someone recognized that we walked in the restaurant. Third, the server didn’t know how to describe what was in the dish that I ordered. The place looked clean, but looks ill lit. Lastly, when we had to pay, the server took forever to give us our check & swipe our card. She took at least 15 minutes altogether. The most annoying thing was that we were the only ones at the restaurant. I would never again step foot at such an excuse for a chinese eatery.

Delicious and Great Service. The new location is great! Owners are very gracious and welcoming. Food is delicious, portions generous and service is fast and attentive. Carry out service is really fast. Super reliable. Hot and sour soup is the best in town.

What’s the Hype?. I was completely disappointed in this restaurant! The prices are outrageous! After eating real Chinese cuisine up and down the East Coast, including NYC and the Northeast, I have to say I was excited when my friends told me this was the only authentic Chinese restaurant in Greenville. Boy were they wrong! The food was tasteless and very bland. The menu selections are fine and the service good, but for what I paid for dinner — I will NEVER go here again! I was totally shocked at these prices! I have paid half of what they charge for extremely delicious, truly authentic Chinese food – and that was in NYC! We couldn’t even eat the leftovers, because they were just not appetizing! These folks need to re-adjust their pricing to accurately represent what they are selling! WOW! I repeat — NEVER AGAIN!

Its best days are long gone. Bland food, bland service.. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Be sure to notice that almost every one of those Best Of awards are at least 5 to 10 years old. Once upon a time, China 10 was among the best venues in town. Todays China 10 is pretty bland in terms of product and service. And the now always nearly-empty parking lot proves it.THE UGLY DETAILS: Back in the day, that parking lot was always pretty crowded. Theres nothing terribly wrong with todays China 10. And its certainly better eating than the many wok-u-up joints scattered all over this town. But its not really great Chinese food anymore, either. Not nearly as good as it once was. My youth was spent in New York City, so no one can justly accuse me of not knowing good Chinese when I taste it. And, once upon a time, China 10 was the closest thing to it in Greenville. And customers clamored to this place. Once upon a time. These days, however, once you get past their truly-hot hot-and-sour soup, their current product is tasty but also so bland its almost not ethnic at all.Despite all that, its still priced old-school; expect $10-$15 dinner plates. My recent experiences there suggest that quality to some extent has been supplanted by quantity, with one entre with rice ultimately filling three full plates. What really irks me about the new China 10 more than the bland food is the bland service. Just like in the old days, you get white tablecloths — but the white tablecloth service that should go with them is long gone. Over the past several years, Ive encountered little more than unmotivated, inexperienced kids running the entire front-of-house at night. Just a few weeks ago, I walked in to find the entire front-of-house entirely abandoned. I seated myself and waited for nearly ten minutes for someone to appear out front. A woman waiting for take-out was standing around at the bar, also neglected. I eventually went into the kitchen myself to shout that someone needed to come out front. Later, the waitress explained she was helping the three members of the kitchen staff cut meat or something. With only two tables in process out front, three people do not qualify as a shortage of kitchen labor. I suspect she was trying to help them finish their back-of-house work ASAP so they could all shoot out the door as soon as possible. This evening, however, set a new low. When the restaurant was supposed to be open until 9pm, I stepped through the front door at 8:40pm. The Open light was blinking outside, but I found the restaurants two teenage waitresses sitting in almost total darkness at the bar twiddling their thumbs. Apparently, since the owner wasnt around, they started doing all their cleanup & prep work around 8 oclock, so they wouldnt actually have to spend a single minute at work that they didnt have to. I was REFUSED seating and was also told that they would already be gone but for one to-go order that was yet to be picked up. When I asked about being open until 9pm, they just said they were closing early tonight. When I pointed out the Open light was on, one of them just got up and turned it off. As I exited, I encountered the lady arriving to pick-up her take-out. She said she had been told on the phone shed better get there fast if she wanted to get her food. When you treat customers like this, you shouldnt be entirely surprised when you dont HAVE any customers. So since the owner has taken to leaving a pack of immature kids in charge of his business every night shift — kids whose solitary goal is to see how fast they can leave work to go party somewhere else — you should probably lower your dining expectations accordingly. Oh, dont plan on stopping by on Saturday either. For some reason, the owner stopped opening on Saturdays several years ago. Not like Saturday is a busy day for restaurants or anything like that, mind you. Funny how things work out. GoGuos Asian, recently gone dark, was actually offering very good Chinese, using high quality ingredients within a tastefully decorated space. The only fault I could find with GoGuos was that, since the cook was being so diligent about the quality of his work, arrival of entrees was often slow. But, for some reason, the place just never caught on. RIP, GoGuos. Yet China 10, coasting on its reputation with overpriced plates and impish service, is still managing to pay the light bill and put out the white tablecloths for now, at least.CONCLUSION: Youre just not going to find a lot of Chinese/Asian fare to rave about in Greenville. But if you want to try YOUR luck finding it, check out Ming Dynasty (from the menu), Sakura Asian Express, Dragonfly, Thai Kitchen (near the Medical District on Memorial), Wasabi 88 & Tokyo.Happy Motoring !

Decent restaraunt, nothing particularly unique or authentic, but decent.
