After sitting at the table and reading the reviews I was confused but it prompted me to write a better review. It seems the restaurant has changed since getting bad reviews. The Wifi works now and works well to start off. I am using it as I type. The service has been insanely excellent. I didn’t even halfway finish my first drink and along comes another. Service is very nice. Seems like the place is changed compared to the reviews.
A Disaster in GreenvilleIHOP12/20/09. I am 25 year customer of IHOP, in that 25 years tonight was an disaster. The first two orders of food- they were out during this Holiday Christmas Season 12/20/09 five days beforeChristmas. Whereby they should have been well stocked anticipating the Holidays rush! Coffee was barely warm.( not hot) My pancakes were saturated in red syrup and whipped cream and nobody cared to hear it when paying for the meals. My hasbrowns were so hard I had difficulties picking them up with a fork. I needed a shovel. Upon existing I saw the same elderly couple sitting near the cold door waiting for a take out as I did when I came in. I was informed at the check out that most of the help was new. Okay, but where were the trainers? Supervisors? Night-Supervisors? Anybody? Then four customers came in and the checkout person was told the new employee to seat them anywhere.The IHOP staff didn’t seem to care whether they smoked or not. I have never seen anything like it in all my 25 years of eating at IHOPin my lifetime travels. How can you be out two holiday specials and Christmas nor New Year’s have not arrived!
Hit-or-miss service, rancid hashbrowns. I was reminded again today why I rarely eat at IHOP. Service was hit or miss – service was OK this morning, other than waiting for the hostess to notice that there were people waiting to be seated. Unfortunately the hashbrowns were indescribably foul and pretty much ruined anything they came in contact with, the advertised WiFi doesn’t work (and hasn’t for months), and compared to their competitors – Cracker Barrel and Waffle House – their prices are high. I could have had breakfast at the Starlight Cafe for what the decidedly awful breakfast at IHOP cost!
The food is decent for the money, but the service is scarce.
