OMG!!!!. This was my first time eating food from Katsuri, and i must say I can finally believe there is another real resturaunt in Greenville!!!! everything we ordered was above and beyond all i have ever had! The staff was freindly and the ownership pride is evident. Thank you , thank you, thank you!!
AMAZING. Okay I had to set up an account to write a review. I moved to Greenville from Raleigh a few years back and have been lamenting about the lack of good restaurants in this town. I’ve now eaten at Kasturi several times and it keeps impressing me. Other reviewers have complained about the prices and I’ll admit compared to the chain restaurants it is more expensive. I usually get a chicken dish and pay around $14 for it. However the restaurant will give you as much rice as you wish for and the portions are huge. I can always turn my one dinner meal into two meals, thus I really come out at $7 a meal. Now admittedly I do drink water with my meals because it is healthier, so I don’t have that expense tacked on. The wait staff at Kasturi is by far the best I have experienced in the Greenville area and I eat out at least 7 meals a week if not 10. The owner or manager goes out of their way to make sure that everything is to your liking and if not they fix it without hesitation. The atmosphere is very lovely and at night romantic. The food is delicious and I always look forward to my dining experience at Kasturi. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants food that is different from the usual Greenville chain restaurant fare.
I created an account just to say that this is hands down the best place in Greenville. The inside is very nice and I can’t believe it used to be a bear rock cafe. The chef comes out to speak to you one on one and is a nice guy. We tried the app sampler, tomato basil soup, mango chicken, biryani the garlic and onion naan. Everything was AMAZING. Prices are above average for Greenville however I have to say they increased portion size because I stuffed myself and took home left overs for 2 more meals so did my husband. I will not go to any other Indian place. Great veggie options as well. Mango chicken was beyond words. Want to try the buffet to sample everything. I cannot imagine there is anything bad here. I bet if you try it you will not be disappointed. For those who say it’s too pricey are broke or never had good food. It’s worth it!
I love this restaurant. From my first visit, I have been amazed at the food, the service and the friendlness of Kasturi. When I heard it was located at the old Bear Rock location, I expected to be underwhelmed at the decor but it is a beautifully decorated restaurant that is both elegant and approachable. I’ve gone for drinks, to the winetasting, to dinner multiple times and to the weekday lunch buffet. On every occasion, I have been delighted!I don’t consider the prices high for the best food in Greenville. I go for the food but also enjoy the atmosphere and friendliness of the staff.
Great food but a little pricey for Greenville. I was very glad to see a new restaurant (aside from another Bojangles or similar artery-clogging establishment) open up in Greenville. From what I had (we kept it basic with chicken curry and chana masala for our first visit). I thought the food was actually better than what I have gotten at Dale’s. Nice atmosphere as well. I would have sampled more dishes if it weren’t for the prices. I have a feeling others in town may have been turned away for the same reason – we were the only customers in the restaurant during the entire course of our dinner. I really hope this place can start to pick up some business and stays around, but I think they need to knock a few dollars off their dinner prices if they are going to survive for long in Greenville. I’ll give the lunch buffet a try for sure, so I can sample some more and save a little money.
WOW! what an experience. I’ve been to kasturi a few times now and each time it gets better and better!! i’ve tried both weekday and weekend buffets..i’ve also been their for dinner. the food and service has been outstanding i was so suprised at the variety they have on their buffet a much better selection than downtown dales! i really enjoyed the street food they have on the weekend buffet not many places have paani puri and tawa items. the service is remarkable ..not once was my water glass empty! the staff are so friendly and knowledgable on the cuisine..great job guys keep it up!! i’l def be back
Second best indian place in town. Food pretty good but not better than Dale’s and it was more expensive. I ate only vegetarian foods. The presentation was pretty but malai kofta were tough and sauce a bit bland. Samosas also bland and okra was tough and undercooked. Still, the place hadn’t been open long and I’ll definitely give it another chance.
