The Dessert Stromboli is great, but…. I find myself visiting Pizza Inn less and less frequently. It is not that the competition is better, it’s actually non-existent as far as pizza buffets go. For a long time the crust was old, sour tasting and would not brown with translucent spots in the dough. Today I was very pleased with the crust, however the sauce cheese and toppings were way under spec. I love the picture of the pepperoni pizza on the home page of Pizza Inn corp. Wow! Never even saw a pepperoni pizza on the buffet. There were pizzas out there. Most with crusts curled up. Not cause the pizza was that old on the buffet; rather because there was so little on it. The chocolate chip pizzert was dark brown and everywhere i looked guests were scraping what little cookie batter off the crust and not eating the rest. When I tried to get spaghetti I found burnt dryed out bottom-of-the-pan broccoli soup. Everything was in the wrong place or not there at all. There was one pan that was not labeled that I really don’t know what it was, other than a brown dryed up mess. These pans looked as though they had been pulled off the lunch buffet dumped into a clean pan an then put right back on the buffet. There were no spaghetti noodles. There were Fettuccine noodles (way over cooked) but no Alfredo sauce. We were told the trainee ordered the wrong product. Really, go to the store and buy some spaghetti noodles or borrow some from the other Pizza Inn in town. Our server was friendly but slow to remove plates from the table. We stacked our own plates to make room. We were offered to make requests and were served the items at the table. The server was friendly and pleasant, but we wanted salsa for the taco pizza but she had disappeared and we ate it without it. The best thing about the whole buffet was the Dessert Stromboli! The salad bar overall was very good with exception to the dressing that are much thinner than what was once served at pizza inn and thinner than any other restaurant. The celery was getting a little old but still usable. It needed to be picked through and not left floating in a pan full of water. During the entire visit I never saw any pizza with more than 2 slices of pepperoni on it and never a thin pepperoni at all.
