Waited in line for 15 minutes then people were called in front of us. After questing the hostess we were told we were called. HELLO i know my name. The people in front of us walked out with us behind them. The left hand had no idea what the right was doing. Not only were we not called in order people were standing in line for five minutes because of no food on buffet.
When I want a delicious steak this is my go to place. The 6oz ribeye and yeast rolls are delicious. The cake slices are ginormous and delicious! The freshest salad bar and best homemade croutons in town! We are never disappointed here.
The wait staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is generally pretty good. Prices are OK. It’s a good family oriented restaurant, locally owned and operated. One of the few places where you can get a room for a group without paying outrageous charges.
The Seahorse restaurant would have been okay if they were more organized as well as a nicer staff. The food was overpriced for what you were given. For example I got the fried shrimpbasket with sweet potato fries.. The basket was maybe 3 inches long and possibly an inch wide. I’m sure you can imagine my disappointment. The service took forever and the cocktail sauce tasted like ketchup with vinegar! The fries tasted great and the shrimp was okay but the ordeal was not worth it
Overpriced crap and bad service. My family had their holiday gathering with a buffet lunch from this place, we were the only ones there. To start the salad bar had large brown pieces and the stump end of lettuce more then once. The wait staff acted like we were intruding on them one young man even laid down on a bench in the waiting area with his feet sticking out into the aisle so that we all had to turn to the side just to get past the counter and to the food. The food was southern cafeteria food at best, I love southern food but this was bland crap with no seasoning or creativity.
Doesn’t live up to the hype. After hearing this place hyped on local radio, we stopped in for the lunch seafood buffet. The price was attractive, and the facility was clean and neat, but the food was lacking. The fried shrimp and flounder were both ok–just not really good. The devilled crab was mostly bread. And the homemade cocktail sauce was more like a heavily vinegar-based BBQ sauce, totally lacking any horseradish. Overall, I’d rate the meal on par with school cafeteria fare. For roughly the same money, go to Mayflower or the seafood places in Ayden or Farmville (the name of which escapes me), and get a MUCH better meal.
