Was in Hendersonville on business and came upon this restaurant by accident. Good service, nice atmosphere and unbelievably good food. Had the pork tenderloin with the best brussel sprouts, as well as the duck confit special. We also enjoyed the edamame hummus and the chocolate creme de pot. Everything was cooked well with a lot of subtle layers of flavor. The arugula salad with mustard vinaigrette with the duck special was outstanding. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys great food. Obviously the people who didn’t like the food are used to a Big Mac or a quarter pounder with fries and a diet soda.
I was hoping for fine dining the food would be exceptional and service friendly. Very disappointing, selection on menu limited,no substitutes, the meal was 27.00 and included only a piece of salmon with a few edamame bits. Other meal was steak, with a fred flintstone size piece of what they call bone marrow with parsley on top (what’s that all about?) it filled the void on the plate though .Needed to purchase several side and small plates some of which were ok and others again disappointing . Pimento cheeseand toast side was the best , would have preferred this as a meal. Overpriced, decorated presentation dishes a disappointment.Waitress unhelpful and borderline rude our party all had the same feeling.
Dinner tonight for my husband’s birthday. Started out with rabbit rillet. The duck conditions was slightly dry but very good. Brussels sprouts were amazing. Husband had lamb. Very tender and great food flavor.
Food is very underwhelming for the price. Had high hopes for this place when it opened and our last two visits have been very disappointing.
Great FLavors. Four of us visited Postero on a Wednesday evening. Greetings were warm and waiter attentive, knowledgeable and helpful. The home made potato chip appetizer with onion mousse was outstanding. My wife could not stop admiring her cider marinated pear salad with Carolina blue cheese. Two people had the scallops (middle plate) and raved about the tastes. One had the large plate which was the pork chop and could not stop talking about the flavors and had to share a bite with everyone. I had the clams (middle plate) and found them to be absolutely delightful. The little neck clams were in shell coupled with portabello mushrooms and lardons atop ramen noodles. The flavors were blended with a wonderful broth that brought the dish together. I kept wanting to compare it to linguini with white clam sauce, but this was much more complex and flavorful. A very nice glass of pinot grigio both cleaned the palate for the next bite and blended with the flavors wonderfully. We will all return to this very special restaurant.
