We are locals and have been there several times. Eclectic menu, and have never been disappointed. Love it. Today, spinach salad and banh mi sliders, shrimp and grits for my husband.
A crunchy almond praline basket filled with luscious white chocolatevanilla bean mousse, topped with garden fresh berries and drizzled with raspberry and mango coulis – best dessert ever, The Brittle Basket!Awesome, basket was so good! All the food is great, sampled a few different things tonight, all wonderful. Great staff, an upgrade from our last visit. We found out our waiter from before was no longer on staff. Love the candor! Great drink menu too!
Only thing going for it is the open air dining. Menu is all over the place. service was disgusting ie..chewing gum/ licking ice cream scoop. had to hunt down host to get sat. food was over priced and not what was described on the menu. great place to go for a cocktail maybe?
Who cares about the food if you can’t even get a glass of water from your server or any others… Worst service I’ve ever encountered in all of my travels. I come to town very often, used to enjoy their food, but now will share with everyone of the other better choice restaurants in town
The drinks and the food were fabulous. We got the Gouda grits, Pork Tostada and an Asian salad w peanut sauce as tapas. Everything was beautifully presented, well prepared & scrumptious (as we all sampled each others in traditional tapas style). Service was great as well. The pear drink I had was a wonderful blend of flavors. First time there & definitely will go back. Love what they did w interior too, lends to very nice ambience.
11/23/13. we went for lunch my wife had the big blue cheese burger house burger and I had the curried goat tacos everything was very good will go back yet
So bad it’s become an inside joke. Never Blue’s service is so bad that it has become a sort of parlour game in Hendersonville to try and top each others worst stories about the place. Every year, 2 of my friends and I celebrate our birthdays together. One year we decided to go to Never Blue. It would be my second dining experience there. The first was not good. This was awful. My friend called and made our reservations; there were to be 15 of us. Yes, a large party, but they had plenty of notice, over a week, and they told her the size of our party would not be a problem. I guess it wasn’t a problem for them, but it was for us. They seated us in separate sections of the restaurants. See the problem? Well, they didn’t. Nor did they think there was any reason they should correct it or that we should mind. We went ahead and ordered drinks while we waited for the rest to arrive so we could figure out what to do. The place around the corner could accommodate us in 15 minutes. And get this, all at the same table! We asked for our checks. The waitress became surly nearly pitching them at us. Took her time to getting back to us to cash us out. Was surly when we asked to have our checks taken care of. I have eaten all over the world. I have eaten everywhere from complete and total dives to some of the finest places on earth. Places known for their snob appeal and meals which come with a side of attitude. But I have never experienced anything like this. My first experience was a year or so before when I went there with my children; it was shortly after the place opened. The waitress looked at my children as if I had brought in flea ridden monkeys. I was promptly told that there was no children’s menu. I’m fine with that. Children’s menus are usually awful. She was quite short with my children when they asked about certain dishes. We maintained our manners and good-spirits. Sometimes the best revenge is graciousness in the face of blatant rudeness. The waitress took several opportunities to tell how much finer their restaurant was, how much more sophisticated the offerings than anything else around. Ever condescending. What we received Our food was pricey and ho-hum. For a time the owner was writing on the restaurant website about the idiocy and lack of culture of the customers. The tone was insulting and the language downright crude. This establishment does not respect their customers, sneers at them as though they are lower life forms. Even it the food was marvelous (this was not my experience) the odious, appalling attitude of the people I have dealt with is reason to stay far, far away. The place that accommodated our party was around the corner, West First. They even gave us desserts and cava for all on the house since it was three of our birthdays.
