Great food and service!!. Had the BBQ chicken breast meal, it was very good. Hush puppies were also fantastic! Service was quick and courteous, drinks were refilled as needed. If I lived in town I would eat here frequently!!
One of the best barbeque in NC. I had the ribs and my wife ordered the shredded barbeque. Both were absolutely outstanding. The green beans, baked beans and Mac ‘n cheese were delicious and great compliments. The restaurant uses hardwood charcoal (not gas) in smoking their beef and chicken. The resulting flavor is unmatched at any BBQ restaurant in the Triangle. The restaurant is almost an hour from where we live, but well worth the trip. Enjoy.
Some are served, some are not…. They selectively-serve only they people they want to serve. I got there 10 mins before they were to be open. The host met me outside and said they will open soon. I said ok, but can I wait inside in the a/c. I was told no. But another gentlemen sitting outside already had his drinks on the table!!!!!! He even went inside to use the restroom and get a refill. I guess some are allowed in and served before opening – only the people they like! Thats ok, I didn’t say anything. When I was finally allowed in, I was seated, and waited 10 minutes for the server to come to the table. Meanwhile, others who came in after me were being sat and served drinks and appetizers right away. I asked to speak to the manager. When it became apparent the manager was not coming (another 10 mins), I decided to leave. I called the restaurant from the car and asked for the manager again. I explained what had happened, but he did not seem to care that his staff was selectively-serving whom they wanted to. He didn’t even ask me if I wanted a coupon or a free appetizer – NOTHING!!!!! I refuse to force my hard-earned money on a restaurant that does not care about their patrons. Customer service in this restaurant is non-existent. I will NEVER go back!!!!!!!
Pretty good barbecue, but not great. The pulled pork lacked smokey flavor. Beef brisket was a better choice. The white and yellow slaws were both good, but the red slaw is all red wine vinegar. Very one note and not worth the trouble. Collard greens were cooked well, but a little under seasoned. Banana pudding was homemade and pretty good.
Fantastic. Amazing food…the beef brisket was tender and full of taste. It’s just about as good as you’ll find in Texas. The place is small so on Saturday nights you might have to wait a bit but it’s well worth the wait. We’ll be back the next time we’re in the area.
