Worst service ever. Called in amd paid for an order, was told that it would be ready in 20 min. Showed up to pick up order 20 min later just to be made to wait another 40 min. Was ignored by everyone except for the couple of girls who asked what name my order was under. Once i got my food i asked to speak to a manager and she was extremely rude. I’ve never experienced anything like it before.
Awesome. Love the wings and adore the staff. There is a good country atmosphere with the staff and other guest. If you live on this side of hope mills and want to have a fee beers watch some sports and eat some wings this is the spot.
Westwood Shopping Center Location. I went to the Westwood shopping center location. We have been looking for a place to get wings in Fayetteville since we moved here a few months ago. We aren’t fans of Buffalo Wild Wings so we were looking for something different. After reading several reviews we decided to give The Wing Co. a try. There were enough good reviews to warrant a visit and as we always do with restaurant reviews, we tried to read between the lines on the reviews to figure out which ones were relevant. If you look at all of the reviews a person posts, you can get an idea of what kind of diner they are and decide if their review is worthy of consideration. Folks with just one or two reviews and who are unecessarily harsh usually get disqualified. Sometimes it could just be an attempt by an employee or owner of another restaurant trying to flame a business. I always try to give a honest assessment.Let me first say that this was our first visit to this place and we were taking the order to go. You have to take into consideration the fact that your food is going to not be as fresh as it could be when you get it to go. The wings here do have good flavor and they are a nice size and very meaty. But they are fried and they do need to have to go vessels that are designed for fried foods. That is one of the biggest gripes I have about places that pack up fried foods to go. They don’t have the proper to go packaging that is ventilated and allows steam to escape. On top of that they wrap the closed styrafoam containers in plastic bags which really seals them up and makes them even more impervious to ventilation. I noticed this when I picked the order up and I had the lady take the styrafoam containers out and puncture holes in them. The wings still had a ton of moisture on them by the time I got them home and a lot of the sauce had washed off and became diluted. That was really ashame because the flavors were really good. Both the teriyaki and sweet chili varieties have sauces that are thicker and on those flavors the sauce did a better job of sticking to the wings. Both were very tasty. The hot wings (I chose hot which weren’t very hot) sauce had almost completely washed to the bottom. There are mild, hot, code yellow and backdraft (presumedly the hottest) choices and if you really like spicy hot I’d say go for those or the code yellows because the hots have no heat. The lemon pepper, the most popular according to the lady that took my order, were the most disappointing. The sauce had almost completely washed off and they must have forgot to put the pepper in the sauce because the wings had been literally coated in black pepper that you could tell had been sprinkled on after the wings were cooked. If that is the way they were supposed to be I would suggest they put the pepper in the sauce before coating the wings because the amount of pepper sprinkled on was ridiculous. There was also very little lemon flavor. They were pretty nondiscript although they were still those big meaty wings. We didn’t get anything but wings so I can’t speak for other menu items. But the place was busy and the wait staff and counter people were hurried. The lady managing that day look frazzled and even mentioned that the kid that was cooking couldn’t follow orders and was lost. TMI as far as I’m concerned. We will give this place another try but will probably dine in since getting wings to go is going to result in the wings being soggy by the time you get them home. I think the owner needs to tweak a few things not the least of which is the way the to go food is packaged. With a few tweaks to even out consistency and get some employees that care about the place as much as he does The Wing Co. could be a good go to place and Fayetteville’s premier wing place.
Just came home after redeeming my Groupon here! I don’t ever lead tips for carryout, but these guys were extra good (& on a Friday night!). The wings, sauce AND fries were all on point!! THANKS! will definitely be coming back.
Good Wings and Fried Corn. No need to rush here if you live near Buffalo Wild Wings but for another wing option, this place cooks up some tasty wings. This is a little sit down serving your daily dose of grease; wings, burgers fries, etc. Their wings have slightly more breading than BBW but is still light and crisp. My favorite flavor is their sweet chili – a nice fusion of sweet, spicy and tangy. Watch out for the pricing. Two separate orders of ten wings will be more than one order of 20. Can’t say I cared much for their fries. A little on the soggy side for me.I never thought fried corn could taste good but I was wrong. If you never had it, this is a good place to try it. The outside of the corn gets a little crisp (as if cooked on a grill) but the inside stays super juicy (careful not to burn your mouth!). It’s juicy fried corn tossed in some seasoning and it’s got me hooked.
