Ice cream is delicious. Me and my mom have been there several times and we usually get the cotton candy or moose tracks but last time we came we decided to try something new and we both got the cappuccino crunch….. hands down the best ice cream flavor i have ever tasted i wish we could get a gallon of it!!!!!
They have the best tenderloin biscuits. Also, their milkshakes are wonderful. Jimmy and Wendy are good people.
Foot long special. I have been coming here for 15+ years and getting the foot long special hotdog meal when I need a cheap hotdog fix. They have never failed me and the other menu items I have tried haven’t been bad. The Cajun chicken sandwich was good as well.
Great place for burgers and dogs. Best foot long hot dog in kernersville.
Worst experience. I expected a real beef cheeseburger with real chili and coleslaw. What I got was a soy burger with chili from a can and slaw from a container, not homemade and undercooked fries. My daughter got ice cream and the ice cream had been setting for so long that the cream and sugar starting separating. I was also treated rudely by the guy at the register. I was standing right in front him ready to pay and another gentlemen came in and asked if he could help him. It was like I didn’t exist.
Good Burger, Hot Dog Not So Much. Mickey’s Cafe now operates in the location that was Bill and Leah’s for years. Nearly the same menu, same setup, except now they serve breakfast here, as well. I guess this is connected in some way with some of the folks that operated Mickey’s Country Kitchen in Walkertown for a number of years before closing several years ago.The Cheeseburger here is kind of on the smallish side with a thin patty, but the taste is very, very good – costs $2.70. The Hot Dog is only so-so, not nearly as good as the one Bill and Leah’s served. The chili is thick & meaty, but lacks any real taste, and the bun was over toasted, had some char marks. The FF are the ridged kind, but here they are cooked long enough to make then crisp, and they are well seasoned – goes for $1.40, large size for $1.75. The BBQ Sandwich was just ok, obviously this is a commercially purchased item for them, it is definitely not cooked in house, and not a sandwich I’d try again – costs $3.10.Good place for a quick burger, too bad about the hot dogName is actually Mickey’s Cafe. per the menu.
OK. First off, this is a guilty pleasure of mine. I like to think that I have a sophisticated palate and that this type of food is below my usual standards. However, that being said… I, upon occasion, love to just get down on a good ol’ Burger basket with crinkle-cut fries. Yeah, I know, right??? No really. I rarely crave this type of food, but when I do Bill & Leah’s is far better than any of the fast food joints around. I’ve never had their hot dogs, but everyone raves about them, so I will have to try them someday. I just know that when the ‘other half’ insists on burgers and fries for takeout, this is the place that I approve of most.
