This was my first time with Venezuelan cuisine and I loved trying Arepa. Arepa is a gluten-free corn-based flat bread formed into a patty that is grilled split open and stuff with a variety of ingredients. I am a vegetarian and was offered a couple of options. I tried –La Quesua (Three Cheese melted blend) — GOOD , RECOMMENDEDVeggie Lovers (Sauted Greens topped with Mozzarella) — HEALTHY OPTION , RECOMMENDEDIf you are too hungry then one might not be enough so you can try 2 different ones.
A little uneven. I’d only had arepas from Guasaca and thought they were really tasty, so I was looking forward to giving this food truck a try. The three of us got 2 arepas each, and all agreed: inconsistent seasoning, but the service was friendly and efficient, and when the arepa was on the good side it easily hit the level of excellent. Some ingredients were well-seasoned while others weren’t. The one with black beans, pico and cheese was fantastic and full of flavor so I was excited to try my second one. Unfortunately I couldn’t finish it – the combination of black beans, avocado and onions/peppers fell flat – even with a healthy dose of sauce added to it. I didn’t have any meat ones, but those who did said they were very tasty.I’ll definitely eat their food again, and would recommend them to friends – with the note that they should stick with ingredients that have flavor.
