Had lunch and the crab cakes were fried and burnt served with squash thick paste which was very cold did not work with crab cakes. Would not go to lunch there again. Not good lunch menu.

What a Disappointment. Took someone to Margaux’s for his birthday. What a terrible experience. Resturant was incredibly noisy. Seems management is unsure whether to make this resturant a sports bar or a fine dining venue. Seating uncomfortable. Service mediocre. Food disappointing. Escargot the worst I have ever had – not edible. Salmon dry. Vegetables swimming in grease. McDonald’s would have been preferable to Margaux’s.

What a delightful surprise!. I had never dined at Margaux’s until last night, because some of the reviews I had read had not been positive. Last night the restaurant we had wanted to go to did not have a table free so we decided to risk Margaux’s. Having dined there with four others, I simply don’t understand why the reviews aren’t uniformly glowing. All five of our meals were absolutely top notch. My gluten-free duck was absolutely sublime — creative, beautifully balanced, one of the best entrees I have had in the Triangle if not nationwide! The vegetarian in our party is usually disappointed in the vegetarian option at most restaurants. Not here. He was amazed by how delicious it was. He couldn’t believe it! He would never have chosen tofu — it can so easily be dire — but this tofu-containing dish was, he said, fantastic. Finally, as we were leaving, the (wonderful) waiter rushed after us to tell us that we had double-tipped, because they had already added an 18% gratuity.

Always different food and pretty good. Scallops and Collards? Yep, and they were great. They are getting a bit too big for their britches now, jmo. Service is slow, bar area crowded, and they really think their drinks are all that, like 9.00 for a Makers. We had 3 appetizers that were great, a couple drinks for each of us 2, and the bill with tip was 120.00. It was good, but not that good. So long for now Maraux’s. I simply can not afford to visit very often.

Best restaurant with the BEST staff. I have been in the Raleigh area for a little over 16 years and have never once heard a bad thing about Margaux’s. The owner, Steven Horowitz, is the most down to earth guy I know. As the owner he does an impeccable job training his staff, who are extremely attentive and are always happy…with a smile on their face. The food is orgasmic and as a picky eater myself that’s saying something. I like the intimate atmosphere Steven has created and the best part is, it’s always changing. He even sponsors local artists to have their work on display at the restaurant. One of my main reasons for going to Margaux’s besides the amazing food is to see Steven and the staff. They always do a wonderful job and I am never disappointed with them or the food!

Steve, the owner, is rude and arrogant….never smiles. Waiter was rude. Duck was impossible to cut. We were practically sitting with the table beside us to eat overpriced food. On the up side dessert was good when we finally got it. I’ve been several times, but this will be the last. Doesn’t live up to my expectations.

Fantastic Food. I’ve been in the Raleigh area for a little over 12 years and have only heard good things about Marguax’s so I decided I would try it. I went just for a drink to check it out but, once I got there the aromas got the best of me. I ended up ordering the grilled yellowfin tuna with roast butternut squash mushroom lasagna and extra virgin olive lemon oil. The fish was cooked perfectly and the squah was to die for. I wasn’t even hungry and ate the entire meal. So of course I had to try a dessert too but I got that to go! I ordered their award winning creme brulee and when I got home I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I’m mad I waited so long to try this place. I will definitely be going back very soon!
