Enjoyed!. We have been 3 times in the past month and have throroughly enjoyed it. We like the two for 20 menu, it is a great deal with great choices. The service has been great. we had heard some bad things but i don’t know why??? We are making this a regular stop!!!01 Jul, 2013Cannot beat it. We have started going their at least once a week. The salad was SUPER fresh and you can’t beat the 2 for 20 meal. i had the sirloin and she had the filet. we also got fresh grilled zuchinni and squash. WOW i wanted to share, i read some bad reviews but apparently this place has it together now!

Fish Dinner. We have started going to Safari Miles whenever we want good grilled/broiled fish. I have tried their flounder, tilapia, grouper and Ahi Tuna (less than $20). It is all delicious and cooked to perfection. If you like wings, you need to try their grilled wings, with or without sauce, although their bourbon BBQ sauce is to die for! Great tasting bread and drinks! Servers all are very personable and well trained! Anytime you go in you always see the owners! Great family restaurant, large groups and can be romantic (sit in the dining room area).

Filet Mignon Tastes Like Fish. My wife, daughter, and I just came from a local (1 1/2 miles from my house) restaurant called ‘Safari Miles’ that we have frequented in the past, where they have a two for one special that runs from Sunday night through Thursday. The special is a choice of entre’s; 6oz. filet, 8oz. sirloin or Fettaccini Alfredo. The dinners come with an appetizer, tonight it was cheese fries, and a choice of 2 of many side dishes. My wife and daughter both ordered the 6oz. filet (medium) that was on special. I was in the mood for some of their excellent garlic/parmesian wings. To make a long story our dinners came after the appitizer. My daughter almost wretched on the table as she said her steak tasted very much like fish (she hates fish!) I tried it and sure enough it seems the steak must have been grilled on the same space that was just occupied by a fish of some variety. My wife swapped plates with her and found that her steak also tasted like fish. We told our waitress and she tried to offer an alternative. You can imagine after this episode that my ladies would have nothing else to do with a meal. The waitress offered to take 1/2 of their dinner off the bill. I asked to speak to the manager. He came out all blustery and told me my wife and daugher had eaten all of the appetizer and sides. I told him I would be more than happy to pay for the Cheese Fries, my wings and the drinks. He told me that I insulted him and his restaurant with our complaint and he would not hear of anything short of this 1/2 off arrangement. I paid the bill and left. A nice family meal ruined by this arrogant jerk. I try to give my money to local vendors whenever possible, but this proves why the big chains like Outback have repeat customers. If there is EVER an issue with any part of your meal, they make it right or it’s free, sometimes you even get a free dessert out of their commitment to make their customers feel like they are special. Needless to say, I will not be back and will make sure all my friends and neighbors know about this episode.

The Safari Miles….. I have to agree with Bill…I do know however they have hired a new manager and if they would trust him–he knows the restaurant business well–worked at the Oyster Bar and the Rusty Rutter before joining Safari Miles–that it’s growing and for the better–the owner is Greek and is a very kind person….but the market in Denver is finicky–Denver has become a very transient market due to the Lake and the draw of Northerners that have moved to the area to retire because of the price of real estate between the North and the South..it’s therefore difficult to access whether they want to be this that or the other….I do know since I have been here and been a local now for years (although I was born and raised here I moved to places around the world) …Safari Miles has changed many, many times—as has the menu and workers..and the hours there became somewhat changing…I believe they are finally on the right path—now they need more advertising as far as hours–I used to go there 2-3 times a week and that has changed…I never know when they will be open or not and sometimes you get tired of pulling in the parking lot only to find they are closed..Throughout all the times I have managed to eat there which is many–I always enjoyed the food—and I think if they keep Woody–since he understands the market—I believe they would do well–he knows what sells and what doesn’t—with regards to this changing market….and when they are open the food is excellent !!!! Lacked a bit of variety—but the steaks and the seafood were always good.

Upscale Cross between a Restaurant and an Sports Bar. This is one of those places which does not know it’s knitch in life. It’s not quite there as an upscales restaurant and too formal to be a sports bar. Eventually it will go one way or another but for the meantime, it’s a fair compromise between both. The get close in either venue but are just not quite all the way there on either one.Food is generally very good with an international flair. Portions are satisfying but not what I would call generous. In the sports bar venue, unless you’re lucky in your seating, getting a good view of the screens is a bit of a gamble.Service is generally very good and they have an excellent staff. The atmosphere is excellent and make for a relaxed place to dine. It does tend to be a bit pricy for what you get however but they depending on the upscale areas of Lake Norman for their patronage. In all, not a bad place to dine but they do need to decide if they are a restaurant or a sports bar. They have the potential to be excellent but they need to go ahead and define themselves and become excellent at one or the other of the two formats.
