Decent for an average Mexican restaurant. Go here if you are craving Mexican food. It has everything on the menu. But don’t go here if you are looking for top notch dishes and solid service. The ingredients were good but lack any extra perks. Service was timely but uninvolved… both dishes we ordered were fairly standard and the Margarita was mostly mix. Just don’t prepare to be impressed…
Our experience at Guayabitos was unbelievable. The service was great and we all heartily enjoyed our meals. It was a very good Mexican restaurant. However, those aren’t very hard to come by. The incredible thing that makes Guayabitos special is that when I forgot my purse, the manager DROVE TO MEET US. He pulled up beside us, honked his horn, and lifted my purse up in the window to show us what I had forgotten. We quickly pulled into a parking lot and he gave me my purse back. We exchanged a few kind words and then he went back. So, definitely go to Guayabitos, if not for the great food, but to support the wonderful people who run it.

I was told by the locals how good it was, but boy are they WRONG! Our waiter was more interested in watching TV than checking on us. We were not given a check, and the waiter was ringing our food up by his ticket, so we paid and left then realized our bill couldn’t have been that high.
Check your tab. Before you pay your bill, double check the tab. The first time it happened i was with a group of three , picked up the tab and thought it was a little high. I paid it and questioned the others in the group later and we confirmed that the bill could not have been that high.Since then, i have been overcharged twice in a row by 4-6 dollars. The first time I thought it was just the waitress making a mistake in addition. This time I got another waiter and the same thing happened. This is not coincidental.
The salsa is the best around the area. The service is great. I have lived here in Maggie Valley for three weeks and I’ve already eaten Guayabuto’s three times. Its delicious everytime.
Ok – just nothing special. Typical mexican restaurant food. No unique food choices. No really authentic food that residents of Mexico really eat. What they serve is fine it is just typical.
