We had a group of 8 and they were able to rearrange two tables for us quickly. Our server was helpful in describing the dishes available. We all enjoyed our meals and only two had room for dessert (which was shared with others)
We spent Thursday night having a couples evening. The ladies all had appetizers and the men had the Osso Bucco. It’s a beautiful restaurant and bar right on the water.
While asking locals for a good place to eat, we learned about 1587 and it did not disappoint! From the appetizer to the entree-fresh and well thought out flavors! Kudos to the chef and our outstanding server Hazel! Enjoyed the entire experience!
We enjoyed dinner, the prices are high for the quantity and quality but the fish is delicious. Salads mediocre and tiny, sides are meager and fairly unimaginative. Good solid wine/bar service. The hostess is a lovely woman and really knows her hospitality. Desserts are good.
The rest of the family ordered seafood entrees which were quite good. Great service and view too. I ordered the steak which was very thin and charred. We will be back — but I will skip the beef.
This is a fine dining restaurant though, like all OBX restaurants, it doesn’t impose a strict standard of dress. The staff is very attentive even when it’s busy and the menu offers a number of tasty entrees and appetizers.
Used to be a favorite but a bit disappointed this year. Chef needs to lighten up on sauces which overpowered flavor of food. Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Scenic view of the boats, docks and water. Need reservations.
