Will never go again. While eating dinner with my family on a Monday night another patron started throwing up over the brick wall on the patio and then passed out! Obviously over served two waitresses went over to check on him and instead of calling a cab they just left him there! Passed out! Place is disgusting and needs to be shut down.
Just sad. The place is dirty and run down. Don’t even ask about how nasty the bathrooms were. Sevice was mediocre, had to flag her down for refills on multiple occasions. When the food arrived, they had things mixed up but we swapped plates around to get what we ordered. I ordered the Cajun blackened salmon. The salmon was a little overcooked but edible. My friend ordered the same salmon, but grilled on a plank. Hers was so overcooked and dry that you could barely cut it, much less eat it. Told the server it was bad, she said she would tell the kitchen and we never saw her again until the bill came. Did they take it off the bill? Of course not! I think if you want to go hang out at a bar and watch a game, it would be OK, but if you’re expecting good food, you will be disappointed. It’s overpriced, dirty and mediocre. There are lots of better options in Matthews.
I’ve been here 30 minutes now and we just ordered!!! There are only about 10 other people in this whole place and we’re getting service like it’s packed. Yes, the service here is already horrible. The manger walked by changing tv channels, didn’t eve look at us, asked how everything was and then just walked away. The food… Awful! I got the Boston BBQ sandwich and it was already soggy and falling apart. There is a wad of meat and it’s flavorless. I will NEVER recommend this place!
A little taste of home!. I originate from Massachusetts, and being a long time Red Sox fan, I feel right at home in this place. The waitstaff is persoanable and curtious, and the food is fantastic I personally recommend any of their burgers!).A burger, a beer, and a Red Sox game on one some of their many TVs…a great way to relax!
Not bad….. I was a little hesitant about going to BeantownTavern for lunch today because of the bad reviews they have received. I decided to give it a try. The service was friendly and relatively fast. There were a variety of offerings on the menu. I ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich because I have not had one in years. It was not bad but was really pretty bland. I would give them another try…
Love The Atmosphere!. Beantown is great place to have an after-work drink or to watch a sporting event. The food is good and the service, while sometimes spotty, is passable. The atmosphere is great and the owner, Donnie, is a real nice guy. I’d recommend this establishment to anyone who is not expecting a 5 star restaurant, but a pretty decent watering hole.
