Mamas was sold. So disappointed the best alfredo in Charlotte I use to visit Mamas about 3 times a week. The business was recently sold 11/2012 and not the same receipes. ughhh terrible terrible.. we want the OLD mamas back!!!
Love this place. Doesn’t look fancy but you’ll find the best food for the price. Servings are always large. Best calzones ever!
Don’t miss this!!. Love Mama’s…we’re local regulars and have had excellent service 100% even before we were regulars. Having relocated to Charlotte directly from Brooklyn, I KNOW pizza and the owners being from NJ they are authentic and the food is NY-Worthy! The staff is so friendly and genuine down to earth as well.

Terrific and CHEAP. We live nearby and have gone here multiple times. I haven’t had pizza from a pizza place better than this locally. Actually, I just ordered a plain pizza from there for $6.99 for a LARGE. Seriously?! We also get their super large special meal which is:A half sheet of ziti. This serves our family of 4 three times. It comes with lots of ricotta amd Mozzarella, too.A whole large plain pizzaA large meatball sub (or grinder, if you’re from New England)HOW MUCH, you say? Try $24.99 The only complaint I would have is that they have a really small ear-in area. Other than that, it is fabulous.
Mama’s Pizza is definitely NOT the best pizza in Charlotte, as a previous reviewer stated, for a couple reasons. For starters, it’s not even in Charlotte, it’s in Matthews. As soon as you sit down, they bribe any negative experience you might possibly have from you by giving you a half a dozen garlic knots with marinara sauce. I hadn’t even looked at the menu before they brought these delicious appetizers. So, from the start, I’m a little biased of how mediocre the pizza I ordered would be. Don’t get me wrong, this place very well could be the best in Matthews, but not in the entire Charlotte metro area (which is only what I can assume that previous reviewer meant). The sauce is a little tangy. The crust is a little crispy, but chewy. The toppings are plentiful. But I cannot give it an overall excellent review. Yes, it’s good pizza, but not the best. I’ve yet to try all of the pizza that Matthews has to offer, so I will say it’s the best I’ve had so far.
This is simply the best pizza in Charlotte. Family owned by people who know how to do Italian food right.
