Great Korean food. Every time we’ve been to Raleigh, NC lately we have gone to Seoul Garden. Not many Korean restaurants in SC, after one we had in Charleston closed. Everything I’ve had here has been so good. I’ve ordered some dishes that the waitress even tried to warn me about, that I might not like it. It was Korean Sausage which is basically blood sausage. I’ve had blood sausage before in the Canary Islands near Spain but the Korean version I actually liked better, even though it was very spicy. The Korean BBQ and Kimchi Pancakes are very good, as are the many other dishes. After eating here I wish I had been more adventurous in my food when I was in South Korea years ago.
Unfriendly?. I don’t know. Perhaps because they were first-timers or backed-up, but I eat there about twice a week, the servers know me well, and are extremely warm…as is the owner. Now, for the food, perhaps the best in the State of North Carolina for authentic Korean. The BBQ IS pricey, but if you want the best it usually doesn’t come cheap. Try it once and decide for yourself whether it is worth it, but I will tell you that it IS very good. They run about 8-9 Lunch Box Specials for lunch that are priced at about $8.95 each, and believe me, along with the complimentary 6-8 side bowls (Korean Appetizers) and the Miso soup, it is MORE THAN worth the money. If you’re still hungry, I don’t know how, ask for more of the preferred side dishes…they will be given free. All told, this restaurant is on-par with the best Korean restaurants in Koreatown, Manhattan, NYC. I know because I’ve tried them also.tom
I was not impressed by the service or the menu selection. I chose a dish that turned out to be bone-in chicken wings and this was NOT indicated on the menu. The sauce was excellent, and I suppose as far as wings are concerned, they were quite good. My beef is with the extremely high price and inaccurate description. I also needed napkins and water and had to literally get up to ask someone for them. The icing on the cake was when I asked the manager if, should I decide to come back, I could order the same dish with chicken breast or boneless wings. His answer was an emphatic NO. That’s disappointing and I will not be back.
Tasty. We have eaten there twice. We have had the beef and pork bento boxs. They were tasty
Acceptable. We go here often, not because the food is outstanding, but because it’s the best Korean that we’ve been able to find in the area. I wish there were more places to choose from, but then again, I have to remind myself that this isn’t LA or Washington DC.The galbi (korea’s famous BBQ) is very good, but expensive for what you get. $21 for about a 1/4 lb. of beef is costly, but at least it was prepared perfectly and very tender. BiBimBap (or rice bowl w/veggies) was also very good.Service is less than friendly, so be prepared for the cold shoulder… at least the food is hot.
I’ve been here several times and have had a great meal each visit. The mandoo and haemul pajeon are great appetizer choices, and the kalbi and spicy pork are solid grill picks. One of our favorite finds in Raleigh so far!
Amazing Korean Food. Having been to Korea, I can say that Seoul Garden serves very authentic Korean cuisine. I’ve had both the table-side BBQ and some of the individual menu items, and everything has been delicious. Other than the BBQ, which is fantastic and a must-try if you’ve never had it, I also really love the dolsot bibimbap. All dishes come with a nice selection of pickles and kimchi too. Nice ambiance and good service. Highly recommended!
