Great food and a pleasant staff…. We had not been to Winston’s in more than 10 years. It will not be that long before we go back. The food was great, the atmosphere was comfortable and inviting and the staff was very helpful. We enjoyed the ribs and the bacon wrapped filet. Very tasty and done just right! Looks like a great place for a special event too!. Highly recommended!
Consistently great food, service, and value. In my mind, there isn’t a better American grill in Raleigh. We’ve eaten at Winston’s many times, and the food and service are great. And what you get for your money is even better. They have better food than most places that charge double. You can even get away with eating at Chili’s level prices, if you order that type of food: burgers, sandwiches, wraps, etc. Is the food inventive or something a foodie would die for? Probably not. But if you want an excellent mid-to-upscale dining experience at mid prices, this is your place.
Not a fan!. The first time I was at Winston’s, I was on a first date and we stopped for drinks. When the waiter discovered that we were not planning to order food, he became, well, let’s just say he expressed his displeasure in a very vocal manner. Our drink tab was roughly $50 and we tip well, but that wasn’t enough for him I guess. I should have known better than to go back and try the food, but I guess I am a sucker for punishment. I ordered the rotisserie chicken with mashed potatoes and my now husband ordered salmon. Despite not being that busy, the wait time was extremely long, which we did not mind waiting for good food. But our food arrived cold. Cold as in icy cold. I have never received cold food like that before, not even when buying fastfood fries. Waited a few months and I went back, this time with my mother. We both got the cajun chicken sandwich and fries. Hers was fine and she said while good, it was nothing special. My sandwich on the other hand…ugggghh! Apparently some sort of liquid had been spilled on the plate or the sandwich itself, because the bun was COMPLETELY soggy. We are talking about it was if it had been submerged in water, it was breaking apart in soggy piles. Very unappetizing. I had to wait for a new sandwich and of course by then, my mom was done with her food. An apology was never given. Went back at hubby’s request a couple more times before we both agreed Winston’s isn’t anything special and just not worth it. I cannot figure out why it is popular when it ranges from mediocre to god-awful.
Seahawk Dude. We get to Raleigh from the coast 8-10 times a year. We make it a point to have dinner at Winston’s Grille. My wife will often order their prime rib ‘Winston’s Prime Rib’…she swears by it….I often order the Winston’s London Broil – it is to eat great steak- at an unbelievably great price….)plus, my wife can never finish the large prime rib), so naturally, I try to help where I can. Superb dining! Warm, friendly, upscale ambiance but at very modest prices. Winston’s Grille? Can’t miss!
Limited menu but tasty. Very nice meal here – both the food and the service were very good. The tuna sandwich was perfectly prepared. Ribs were very good.Wish they had a bit more selection on their menu.
