Ribs are addictive, reads a sign inside… And indeed they are… Perfectly cooked, tender, the right mix of sauces, possibly the best ribs I have had in a long time… The half-rack is more than enough for one person with a good appetite, as they also offer a choice of any two sides and an austin toast with it and all that comes for just over 15 bucks inclusive of all taxes… And the location is quite scenic too, set by the lake…. I do noticed a few other items on the menu which demand a revisit sometime soon in the near future… But the ribs are a must have…

Blah. Some okay stuff, but nothing that impresses. Smoked wings are overcooked, pulled pork is boring, chicken salad had a bone in it, sides are bland, and the brownies are a disaster. Also, if you get food to go, check your bag before they leave, because something is usually missing. It’s close to my house, so I go too often considering I really don’t like most of their food. I need to stop myself and value what I eat a bit more than my time.

DO NOT UTILIZE AS CATER. At my annual banquet for a group of high school students/parents(65),Shane’s was highly recommended by a colleague. The catering service is much to be desired. The time requested to have the food delivered was not honored. The food was not hot nor delicious. The overall service was very unprofessonal. Letter and email was sent to manager and coporate office to share my dissatisfaction with the catering service and still to this day no response.

Good. Definitely not great. The ribs were tender and meaty, though the sauce was nondescript and not really noteworthy. The coleslaw was the same that you get everywhere–clearly not made in-house. The side salad was the same. The baked beans were pretty good. All-in-all it’s standard fare. No Wow factor, just standard. It’s not gluten-free, though you can order carefully to avoid it.

BBQ is delicious, not vinegary at all. Delicious sides and the family deal is a great price. Enjoy!

The sides are good as is the tea. The BBQ however is quite wet, and not north Carolina style!! The BBQ sandwich is quite messy and while the bread is Texas toast, a plus in my book, the amount of butter and wet BBQ makes it too messy. Not sure why the influx of non nc BBQ in the Raleigh area but I wish it would stop.
