Really good bbq, charming atmosphere, fast friendly service. I loved the chopped bbq. Thoroughly enjoyed the baked beans. Iced tea was just sweet enough and the perfect richness of tea flavor. Waitress was courteous and srvice was attentive and prompt. Would definately go back.
Much Good Here, BBQ Is Average. The barbecue here is not spectacular, in fact, its pretty much middle of the road Lexington style pig. The barbecue, while moist and with some hint of smokiness, is too finely chopped and is rather bland coming out of the kitchen. Some additional saucing, commercial or otherwise, really is needed. The slaw is ok, while the fries are really nice. The hamburgers and hot dogs here are definitely worth a try, I like them both. The daily home cooking items are very good to great.The service is fast and friendly, the portions nice, and the prices are reasonable. I guess the bottom line for me on this place, is that I like a lot of what they offer here, the barbecue is not the headliner for me. There is better in the area, and even in Mocksville.
Great pimento cheese burgers!. I always make it a point to stop at Deano’s when I’m in Mocksville and I always get the same thing, the pimento cheese burger. The pimento cheese is made fresh on premises every day and you can taste it. Got the double burger today with a 1/2 order of fries…..which is the size of a normal order at other restaurants. I’ve never tried the barbecue so I can’t comment on that, but there was a lot of it being served while I was there.
Try the baked beans. Very good.
