We’ve been going here for years and it used to be wonderful. Note the use to be. Tonight was our first visit in a few months. The health rating certificate that now is only a 92 should have thrown up a flag. Took forever to get seated. We had five people. Two ordered the extra meat specials. Both were missing the sausage. The bacon was undercooked as in one end of mine was barely cooked. The pancakes used to be awesome. Tonight they were burned along the edges and very brown on one side and very not brown on the other. The eggs were an unappetizing blob. We both asked for scrambled. These looked like they had been fried and just rolled up and declared scrambled. They had no taste. It had been fried out of them. Oh and when the sausage did come… It tasted off. Not the way it normally does. My friend said she thought it might have been turkey sausage not pork. What an incredible disappointment tonight was. This place had really gone down hill.

So much food. You get so much food here. Every dinner comes in a gigantic portion with three sides and biscuits. And it’s cheap. Love the fried catfish, the chicken n’ dumplings, the sugar-cured ham, the country-fried steak, the grilled pork chop… and so much more.

2 days in a row cold food. How can you do this with breakfast. Cold eggs and cold sausage. Hottest thing I got was the syrup

A cold winter’s morning, Cracker Barrel fireside table, biscuits and jelly, pancakes and warm syrup, a slice of bacon a hot cup of coffee. Now that’s pretty close to heaven!

I really hate saying that I like the food here because Cracker Barrel has a long history of not liking gay people, much less the other minorities of this world. Regardless, I lowered my requirements so that a cherished colleague could have some much needed comfort food. She had the apple chicken something, and she licked the plate. I had the chicken pot pie, which was the daily special, and I was also nose deep in the bowl. BTW, could they get the tea any sweeter? Yum! I’d like to say I’ll be back soon, but I won’t, not until the parent corp takes it’s place among the responsible companies of this world. Until then, they will muddle along without my pink dollars.

Love or hate the decor, the food is actually very good. Breakfast all day, great dinner menu, and nice desserts. Also they have great candy to remind you of your days as a kid…for the 30+ crowd.
