Rajbhog has the most extensive menu out of all the desi restaurants in the triangle . They have a wide range of chaats and Bombay snacks , all of which are above average . I loved all the chaats and the pay bhaji . The South Indian is avoidable . Hygiene level is moderate .
Delicious fresh Indian food. You can tell these dishes are expertly prepared using fresh herbs and spices. The buffet has a great mix of vegetarian and non-veg. The meat dishes include tandoori chicken, chicken masala and a goat curry. They have a mint chutney that is loaded with flavor. I like spicy food so my fav dish off the menu is a Chilli Chicken. The portion is big enough to bring home leftovers.
Bad. We went here and were not happy. First, the portions are small. Second (and more importantly) the food we ordered was terrible. With so many good Indian restaurants and chaat places in RTP, I’m surprised they can serve such food.
Thumbs Up Chicken Masala is good. But the imported Coke products were a nice touch.
Indian fast food and sweets. Rajbhog is not really an Indian restaurant in the traditional American sense. But it is the type of shop that many Indians are very familiar with. They offer, fast foods like chats and dosas. The samosa chat is good but the showstoppers are the masala and spring dosas. The party samosas are also tasty and not too big so they can be shared easily. With the exception of the dosa, most of the portions are small though. So, order more than just the chicken tikka which is a very small dish. Also, please note that when I say fast food, I am referring to the type of cuisine, not how much time it takes. Most things take 10-20 minutes so expect a wait. While you are waiting, take a look at the snacks, sweets, and kulfi (Indian Ice Cream). They are very sweet and rich but very authentic Indian deserts. Try the mango lassi as well. It is sweet yet refreshing and very reasonably priced. There are a few things Rahbhog can improve, but I like it overall.
O.K.. The meals that they serve at the homeless shelter are larger. Portioned plates are small. Food wasn’t bad. Large selection of Indian sweets.
