I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!! I simply cannot understand all the poor experiences articulated in reviews. The service can be a bit slow when you are waiting to order repeatedly with all-you-can-eat. Therefore, the quick eaters at our table always order multiple items so that the slower eaters are not rushed and this also works well for the servers timing. I have always had pleasant experience here, the staff is courteous and knowledgeable of the menu. Always an exceptional time @ Sakura in Moyok 🙂
Our family has been coming here since they opened and have always enjoyed their sushi and kitchen prepared meals. They are AYCE for lunch and dinner with a smaller menu for lunch and the full (extensive) menu, always well worth the money!! The sushi has always been delicious and fresh… You have to try it… 4 star you ask… You do have to wait sometimes but that gives you time to enjoy yourself with your date or friends.
Bad service. Great food! However the service…..Let s just say if you order the All you can eat , your first serving will be the last time you see your waitress. After eating there a dozen times, I ve always had to chase down the staff to place another order or just to get a refill. Will not go back anytime soon. Feel free to verify what I m saying. Just order the All you can eat . Good luck!
Fake Sushi. They serve the fake sushi, you know the kind sold in the grocery stores. The service was slow to top it off.
Yummo! I’m new to sushi, so I ask a lot of questions. It’s a small place & we don’t normally go on busy nights to avoid crowds & tourists. Super people, patient, kind & awesome food!
The volcano roll is my over all favorite, I ordered take out, and it was ready fairly quickly, alittle pricey, but thats to be expected, I got home and enjoyed….I will definitely go back and eat again.
Stick to the tempura.. I can say one nice thing about Sakura: they make some of the best vegetable tempura I have ever eaten. Fresh vegetables, tight batter, cooked perfectly. If you’re dragged here, don’t order anything else. Judging by smell and texture (never mind taste), the fish is obviously not fresh. Sakura’s chefs overcompensate for this by serving you long slabs of it, so you’re forced to gnaw at each piece of sushi instead of eating them in one bite. I tried several special rolls, and every one was a disaster. Most were encumbered by a mayonnaise or thick soy-based sauce. Worst of all was the Vegetable Roll. The tofu inside was not seared, as advertised, but completely raw and unseasoned. On top of the raw tofu maki was a pile of seaweed salad, the liquid from which had turned the roll’s rice into mush. It was impossible to pick this up with chopsticks, so I had to sort of scoop it up with my bare hands. If I had wanted to finish the roll (no worries, there), I would have looked like a swamp creature by the end of it. This review is based on two visits. The first was soon after they had opened, and I thought they deserved a chance to improve. The second time was even worse, though, and I didn’t even finish half of what I had ordered. The tempura was great both times, at least!
