Loved It!. We are new to town and have tried quite a few places in the area. We were really missing the taste of great pizza. With two children under 3, our options for dining out are pretty limited. We visited Famous on Saturday night and were seated right away (a great thing with kids). The waitress was so polite and brought the kids and us sweet tea right away and never left us with an empty glass. The appetizers were delivered quickly (we got the mozzarella sticks and mezzedes platter to try something new) and they were piping hot with all the extra condiments we requested. We followed up with the kids burger and spaghetti and meatballs for the kids (HUGE portion sizes) and we split a meditteranean pizza and pastrami sandwich. Everything was delicious and the pastrami was like the ones we get in New York -great swiss cheese and served on rye bread. Too full for dessert but we’ll definently be back.
Veteran accused of stealing. Husband was accused of stealing…he ordered a sandwich and baklava…paid for both and did not receive the baklava and was accused of taking it off the counter…my husband is an iraq war veteran and stationed at ft bragg…horrible, shameful service…we are new to New Bern and love the town but the way we were treated at this restaurant is very hurtful….shame on you famous subs….we will not be back
2012 bridge run. Our family visited New Bern about 3 months ago and ate at Famous, the food was awesome but our expirence at the restaurant was not great there was a little old lady in he back just degrading the employees and at the check out line we were somewhat setback by this. We all ran the bridge run this week and saw that Famous was a sponsor and we were able to grab some pizza and bananas. After the race we decided to support them on the way out of town, and as busy as they were all was good and even the kids had a good time
I went for lunch last week, and a lady named Pam served me. I never had to wait for a refill on my tea and I enjoyed my meal!
Famous Subs has never failed to serve up delicious meals time after time over the years!!! Craving the meals is our problem and trying to NOT go there more often.
The service is bad , the chicken is the best. It should be called famous chicken because that’s what they are famous for. I’ve been eating here for years and the service has always been bad. But the food is the best and is always the same. If you’ve never been there you won’t be sorry. The food makes up for the service.
Love the Ziti!. I found Famous 2 years ago and love it! When we have family and friends in town we always bring them in for dinner because the staff is quick and super friendly, the establishment is always very clean, the prices are what everyone can afford and we’ve never had an issue over the food being prepared wrong. I’m a huge fan of the ziti and there is always enough to take home too!
